Cologne Central Station
[edit]Hello, my English is very bad, so I`ll try to explain. You write Cologne as Name for the mainarticel of Köln or Cologne, but then this must be Cologne Central Station..??Greets RB 95 (talk) 19:37, 10 March 2009 (UTC)
- This has been debated before: how do we translate any Hauptbahnhof. At present the consensus seems to be that we leave it in German, but I don't think there's any logic beyond personal opinion behind it. By contrast, Bahnhof is invariably translated as 'station'. It would be interesting to investigate what authoritative English sources use. --Bermicourt (talk) 15:06, 27 December 2009 (UTC)
Consistency
[edit]"Connections to the local Cologne network Stadtbahn are made by two subterranean stations, Dom/Hbf and Breslauer Platz/Hbf". For consistency with the article's use of "Central station" instead of the station's real name as used in reliable sources, should this not say something like "Connections to the local Cologne network [something] are made by two subterranean stations, Cathedral/Central and Wroclaw Square/Central"? Article needs update
[edit]This article needs update and thorough review.
For example, the "line" information is rather messed up. S11 does not depart to Krefeld, it departs from Bergisch Gladbach to Düsseldorf or Wuppertal. S12 does not depart for Aachen but Düren. There is a train at night from Aachen to Köln/Bonn Airport, though. (Line S13)
Additionally, there is no direct connection to London as of now.Shurakai (talk) 04:21, 24 February 2013 (UTC)

Incidents
[edit]101.178.163.19: The incident itself probably merits mention in the article, with a link to 2018 Cologne attack. Your suggested text is, however, far too imprecise and full of errors:
- "In 2018": At least the month should be mentioned, possibly also the date.
- "a terrorist": Sources says that the police are "'not ruling out' terrorism". That is not the same as stating that he was a terrorist.
- "from overseas": Where is overseas? Far too imprecise, why not say "Syrian"?
- "tried to stab": No stabbing or knife is mentioned. (You do not stab people with molotov cocktails, gas canisters or handguns, which are the weapons mentioned.)
- "some people": Two people were injured by the firebomb, one was taken hostage afterwards and slightly wounded. (And none of them were attempted stabbed.)
- "Police stormed the building": What building? The pharmacy was one in a row of shops at the station premises.
- "and arrested the man": Yes, but that was after he had been shot and seriously wounded.
Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and the information given should be correct and encyclopedic. If you are not capable of writing the text in an encyclopedic way yourself, you can make a suggestion in the talk page, and people will help you with the final product. But please do not insult other editors' intelligence by edit-warring a demonstrably erroneous and imprecise text into the article. --T*U (talk) 12:35, 29 October 2018 (UTC)
- And you don't try to insult me, who do you think you are?? Where is your manners, you learn something before telling others what to do.101.178.163.19 (talk) 23:51, 21 November 2018 (UTC)
