Question
[edit]Does the Unification Church discourage its members from careers in show business? Or is this some kind of special case? Wolfview (talk) 16:35, 26 August 2010 (UTC)
- Not sure, what do WP:RS secondary sources say? -- Cirt (talk) 17:39, 26 August 2010 (UTC)
- I'm a UC member. Actually the church does encourage members to be successful in the entertainment field, and sometimes even supports their work. For instance David Eaton, to name just one who has an article here.Steve Dufour (talk) 19:54, 26 August 2010 (UTC)
- That is not a secondary reliable source, but rather a WP:NOR violation. -- Cirt (talk) 16:24, 9 November 2010 (UTC)
- I think OR is allowed on a talk page. :-) Wolfview (talk) 04:44, 27 December 2010 (UTC)
- Perhaps, but not in the article. And WP:NOR violations should be avoided on talk pages, of BLPs. -- Cirt (talk) 04:54, 27 December 2010 (UTC)

Fanclub
[edit]Should the article have information on her fanclub? Most celebrities have them and they are not all that notable. Wolfview (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 15:33, 9 November 2010 (UTC).
- What do secondary reliable sources say? -- Cirt (talk) 16:24, 9 November 2010 (UTC)
- Sometimes they do stories on fanclubs, but don't normally mention them when writing an artice on the celebrity him or herself. Wolfview (talk) 16:27, 9 November 2010 (UTC)
- Cannot put something into the article without coverage from secondary reliable sources. -- Cirt (talk) 16:28, 9 November 2010 (UTC)
- There is already info on her fanclub in this article. Should it be removed? It is from a reliable source.Wolfview (talk) 16:36, 9 November 2010 (UTC)
- No, it should remain. -- Cirt (talk) 16:40, 9 November 2010 (UTC)

- It seems that the fanclub is noteworthy because it's founder is slightly notable (at least sufficiently notable to have his own article -- but I notice that said article is sourced solely to his local newspaper). HrafnTalkStalk(P) 16:58, 9 November 2010 (UTC)
- I don't think mentioning it does any harm. It just seems a little trivial to say that a popular celebrity has a fan club. Wolfview (talk) 17:30, 9 November 2010 (UTC)
- The fanclub was started by the conductor, Junichi Hirokami. That, plus its coverage in WP:RS secondary sources, merits retaining it in this article. Thank you, -- Cirt (talk) 17:49, 9 November 2010 (UTC)

Questionable sentence
[edit]" Unlike most marriages arranged by Moon, Sakurada had been given a month prior to the ceremony to get to know her future husband.[14]" My wife and I were matched by Rev. Moon and married in the Blessing Ceremony in Madison Square Garden a year and a half later. There is nothing remarkable about that at all, nor does it seem very important to be mentioned in the article. Steve Dufour (talk) 16:19, 12 January 2011 (UTC)
- It was important enough to be mentioned in the secondary WP:RS source. -- Cirt (talk) 16:39, 14 January 2011 (UTC)
