Medium or heavy bomber?
[edit]Within the infobox, I’ve changed the ‘role’ to “medium bomber,” in order to align the article with other combat aviation articles. The information previously contained — something along the lines of “Advanced bomber” & “Bomber B project competitor” — is better off mentioned in the article proper (the former more or less is, the latter is mentioned in the introduction).
As for its designation as a “medium bomber;” First off, it would seem most sources label the 288 as a medium bomber (Book search — external link).
Secondly, it was smaller (and usually lighter) than most heavy bombers, while being larger than most light bombers.
Lastly, the 288 was developed as, more or less, a direct successor to the Ju 88/Ju 188. Both of these aircraft are listed as “medium bomber(s)” here on Wikipedia.
Just figured I’d open this up in case anyone wanted to dispute my labeling of the 288 as such.
