[edit](Carried over from my talk page) From Duberman, p. 115 - 116 confirms Carter's story about the bar and restaurant hopping of the Mattachine for the sip-in. However, Duberman's account states that they were refused at Julius' immediately and Craig Rodwell had been kicked out for wearing a "Equality for Homosexuals" button prior to the sip-in.
Duberman, p. 206: There have even been tales that some of the customers at Julius', the bar down the street from the Stonewall that had long been favored by older guys ("the good girls from the fifties," as one queen put it), actually held three of the rioters for the police. This quote is attributed to a story in Boston's Gay Community News, that I have access to. If you want the entire article I can email it to you.
In Carter, p. 48 - 49, the author tells a story about a participant in the Stonewall riots whose first visit to a gay bar was Julius'. He was turned to watch the other men but was told by the management to face the bar to prevent it being closed due to solicitation. --Moni3 (talk) 00:04, 9 August 2008 (UTC)
