Surname mistakenly seen as van der Grift on wiki

[edit]

While researching Herman Fetzer, I noticed a link with Josephine Van De Grift. It is written as "Josephine van der Grift" on Herman's wiki page and it points to the Akron Beacon Journal newspaper, of which they both were news reporters. However, her name is misspelled on his page and it should point to her own page. She is a good example of a woman journalist and reporter from the early 20th century, when women were not as common in newspapers as writers.

She is also listed on George Pierce Baker's page regarding the Harvard Workshop 47 playwriting class attendees. Her name appears, but when clicked it points to the Akron Beacon Journal news page. Her name is misspelled as van der Grift on that page also. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Pierce_Baker

The surname should be 'Van De' not 'Van Der'. All news articles and books written about her show her name as Van De Grift (and rarely as Vandegrift). JosieMarieCarter (talk) 22:21, 7 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
