Episode Guide

[edit]

Alot of episode descriptions are unecesarily wrong and spoilerific. They're supposed to be summaries not full blown explanations! I'll clean it up eventually if I have time, but if someone else would do it I would be very grateful. Flapjack727 (talk) 22:31, 6 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Characters

[edit]

The character descriptions on the main Johnny Test page takes up a good deal of the page. I think a Character page should be made. Thank you. Weaselpie (talk) 20:22, 24 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

That's already been done. 99.19.92.173 (talk) 02:30, 20 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

FYI. You are welcome to comment. Ikip (talk) 17:33, 30 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

USA Premeir Date

[edit]

Didn't Johnny Test premeir in the USA in early 2003. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Xxijixx (talkcontribs) 03:36, 13 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Wow, that's the worst thing ever asked. Of course not!

Johnny Test on Disney Channel Russia?

[edit]

Can someone tell me is Johnny Test really going to air on Disney Channel Russia? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 95.111.52.14 (talk) 15:18, 19 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Johnny Test actually aired on Disney Channel in Spain. It hasn't aired on Disney Channel in Russia as of yet. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A02:C7D:5244:6200:705E:580B:CE8A:5155 (talk) 17:45, 31 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Can some please revert the movement of Johnny Test (character)? I wanna create an article about it. --Hello, I'm a Wikipedian! (talk) 15:02, 4 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Usable stuff

[edit]

This from Aaron Simpson's blog which he talks some on his involvement on the test pilot for Johnny Test. If I find more I bring it here. Sarujo (talk) 10:33, 11 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Porkbelly is not in Canada.

[edit]

I removed the statment regarding Porkbelly being in Canada as there is nothing verifying that Porkbelly is a Canadian city. Most the episodes suggest that the location is within the US. Such as Johnny Moustache where Bling Bling crosses boarder into Canada. Sarujo (talk) 18:03, 3 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

An Ontario flag can be seen outside of Johnny's school. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.81.75.121 (talk) 22:38, 9 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism

[edit]

Umm...just so everyone knows, this page has been severely vandalized in random areas. I'd fix it myself, but I just started watching Johnny Test myself but I don't know enough about the show to put down accurate information. Ashlyyn (talk) 19:54, 27 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Someone by the name of Johnny Test ClueBot put down "Yes My Leader" in German. That cause his edits to be blocked from public viewing. MechMaster Katzenstein (talk) 15:45, 20 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Johnny grows kinder

[edit]

Johnny is becoming a kinder and wiser person as time passes. This can be seen very clearly in the episode aired on December 5, 2011. Johnny gives up on getting the super-toy and instead gives all the money to helping the less fortunate. His sisters comment: "He knew he was crazy and brave, but we didn't know he was so sweet."

The most common catch-phrase in the show is: "To the lab!" Das Baz, aka Erudil 18:51, 6 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Cancellation

[edit]

I've heard from at least 1 source that Johnny Test has been canceled. DudeWithAFeud (talk) 23:26, 11 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

How does this improve the article? Cyphoidbomb (talk) 23:58, 11 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Please incorporate negative critisism into the "Reception" page

[edit]

For a show that is almost universally panned like this show is, it seems really distorted for the only review on that section to be a positive one. At least a mention of how people do not like this show somewhere. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.25.211.203 (talk) 01:18, 2 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, you say that it is universally panned, but I don't know from where you get that information as neither of the chief critical response aggregators, Rotten Tomatoes or Metacritic, corroborate this. That said, Wikipedia is run by volunteers. If you want to see a balanced section on critical reception, feel free to volunteer by finding a reliable source (not blogs or dopey fansites) that provides a contrary opinion. We typically don't care about the opinions of the general public, so comments from disgruntled basement-dwellers at IMDb, TV.com, etc. will be removed quickly. Remember that we are striving for a neutral point of view. If you're not sure how to included references, please see the video at Referencing for Beginners. Good luck. End date in infobox

[edit]

It is pretty obvious the show is over but it hasn't been a year yet since the last episode aired and without something from a reliable source, the network preferably we are supposed to leave "present" in the infobox. https://twitter.com/jatactor/status/614207327277871104 where James Arnold Taylor in his verified twitter in reply to "@JATactor Is there any chance of Season 7 of Johnny test coming out?" states "@asiancooldude unfortunately no there's no plans for it. But feel free to let the people at DHX Media know you want it." As a WP:SPS Taylor can give valid info about himself for use in wiki but we can't use info he gives about other things any credence. He also cannot, and did not, make an "official" announcement, just stated what he is aware of. Absent something well-referenced, we generally wait a year after no announcement to tag the end date. "present" there seems wrong so I just removed everything from that field. Geraldo Perez (talk) 16:23, 12 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

See also Template:Infobox television/doc#Attributes last_aired: "Only insert the last episode's date after it has happened. In some cases the fate of a program might be uncertain, for example if there are no announcements that a show has been renewed. If such a program has not aired a new episode in 12 months, "present" can be changed to the date the last episode aired" Geraldo Perez (talk) 14:00, 14 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

2015

[edit]

"unfortunately no there's no plans for it. But feel free to let the people at DHX Media know you want it."https://twitter.com/jatactor/status/614207327277871104" So sorry, User:Geraldo Perez, I didn't realize YOU were the one producing the show. I wonder why you didn't tell the cast there was NO PLANS for a new season. You know, aside from the obvious. MarcoPolo250 (talk) 13:32, 19 September 2015 (UTC)MarcoPolo250[reply]

@MarcoPolo250: No plans means no plans that he is aware of. Employees speak only for themselves and what they know and do not speak for their employer. We can't presume that employees are fully aware of everything under consideration by the network and studio. They may choose to keep him fully informed – or not, we don't know the details of their relationship. Geraldo Perez (talk) 14:05, 19 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
And clearly James Arnold Taylor isn't producing the show either. Actors aren't mouthpieces for network activities. It is problematic that people are using actors in this way. I recently saw someone asking a writer about the air date for some kids' series as if a writer has any direct knowledge of programming schedules, which is highly unlikely. It would make more sense to get the network president's statement or perhaps even the head of programming. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 15:09, 19 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Split proposal

[edit]

According to Netflix, the revival actually has its own section of being an individual series, rather than listed as a seventh season of the original. If that is the case, I think this article should be split in the similar way the Animaniacs article was split for a revival series that was separated from the original. BaldiBasicsFan (talk) 12:00, 23 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

From the above and observing what resulted from the above discussion: The consensus is that the Netflix series is a new and distinct series which is a revival but not a part of the original series which has ended. This article was changed to reflect that consensus. A newly created article Johnny Test (season 7) was moved to Johnny Test (2021 TV series) reflecting the fact season 7 didn't actually happen and the revival series was created instead. The article List of Johnny Test episodes is an adjunct to this article. It still needs to be determined if the episode list from the revival series belongs in that article in some manner. Ripping off Dexter's Laboratory?

[edit]

I've heard so many years that people view Johnny Test as a rip-off of Dexter's Laboratory. Even if I don't like Johnny Test, I seriously don't get the comparison. FlapjackRulez (talk) 15:07, 16 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Chris Savino's involvement.

[edit]

A lot of people view Johnny Test as a gender-flipped rip-off of Dexter's Laboratory, mainly due to involvement from Chris Savino, who did the last two seasons of that show. ChowderRulez (talk) 02:28, 1 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Pitched to Nickelodeon

[edit]

Yeah, Johnny Test was actually pitched to Nickelodeon. The haters must be very happy that Nickelodeon rejected Johnny Test as an original series. ChowderRulez (talk) 02:28, 1 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Should we mention the lawsuit?

[edit]

In 2013, David Straiton sued Scott Fellows alleging that Straiton was the uncredited co-creator of Johnny Test. Here’s the file https://deadline.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/johnny-test-revenues-suit__130918001233.pdf

I don’t know how the lawsuit turned out so I want to know, should we mention it in our page? ~~ — Preceding unsigned comment added by 206.172.154.97 (talk) 19:59, 24 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
