Contested deletion
[edit]Someone posted a "speedy delete" tag on this article who clearly had no idea what in the world he was doing. He suggested that the article should be quickly deleted since it was not noteworthy and--sillier still--that it appeared that I had just added the article to be about someone that I personally knew. I posted the message below, and the ding-dong removed his tag without so much as leaving a word of explanation:
I simply cannot believe that you intended to post this. The house was the home of one of Charleston's 19th century mayors. How on earth would I possibly have known that person personally?! The article (which was written literally minutes ago) already specifies the significance of the house as the home of that mayor. And, far from being based on some personal knowledge, there is source cited from the local newspaper.ProfReader (talk) 20:44, 18 April 2016 (UTC)
