Bar
[edit]Could the link to bar be updated to point to a page that is not a disambig? I was informed that the page that I linked to was not the proper one, so if somebody with a greater understanding of the subject could take care of it, that would be wonderful. --Maelnuneb (Talk) 19:35, 17 October 2006 (UTC)

Hoberlin or Oberlin?
[edit]Could some expert specify please. Also the children need clearer treatment. And what is "Cromwellian stock"? A descendant of Oliver Cromwell, or, I suspect, someone who was owed money in England in the 1650s and happened to take land in Ireland in recompense. How do we know that they had anything to do with Cromwell himself, his army or his policies? JO'D was an important man in many ways and this sort of sloppiness should not be on his wiki page.86.42.192.16 (talk) 08:48, 6 October 2008 (UTC)
First Topographer?
[edit]It is doubtful that O’Donovan was “Ireland’s first historic topographer”. Samuel Lewis (publisher) had published his extensive Topographical Dictionary of Ireland in two large volumes already in 1837, replete with a wealth of historical information for each location. O’Donovan was not amongst the thousands of subscribers thereto and listed therein. As the wiki article on Lewis indicates, his work “has not been superseded”. Perhaps the truth is that he was the first, but O’Donovan superseded him? Max Kaertner (talk) 18:35, 29 November 2010 (UTC)
