Saw a very interesting newspaper article about Dr Bernhisel giving a copy of the Book of Mormon and a pamphlet to US President Millard Fillmore, and a lot more. Very, very interesting article. So I came onto Google so see if I could find the article text, and found this article from the day before. You may want to read both articles.[1] Hope this helps, Charles Edwin Shipp (talk) 14:09, 7 February 2012 (UTC) PS: Article dates are 10-10-2011 and October 9, 2011.[reply]
In the article on Mormonism and Polygamy, it notes that Bernhisel apparently married his own sister Maria at some point in his life. Thus, in keeping with that other article, I propose changing this line in the current article: "He was married to seven women, but by 1850 all of them but Elizabeth Barker had left for various reasons." Possible change being: "He was married to seven women, one of which was believed to be his sister Maria, but by 1850 all of them but Elizabeth Barker had left for various reasons."
