Painting
[edit]For some reason this painting keeps getting added into the article. It is clearly not a picture of John Alexander Paul Macgregor, but of a man called Alexander Murray Macgregor, who was a major-general and died in 1827. The file name identifies him as such, as does the sale catalogue of the portrait from 2001 [1]. The matter is effectively settled by the identification of Alexander Murray Macgregor with the portrait in W. G. F. Boag, "Major General Alexander Murray MacGregor", Journal of the Society for Army Historical Research, vol. 57, no. 231 (1979), pp. 127–128. Please do not reinsert the image here. I'm minded to create an article for Alexander, where the image belongs. —Noswall59 (talk) 10:09, 10 April 2020 (UTC).
