- Johann Jacob Bernhardi (November 1, 1774 – May 13, 1850) was a German professor of botany who was a native of Erfurt.
- In 1799 he received his PhD and medical doctorate from the University of Erfurt, and during the same year became director of the Gartenstraße Botanical Gardens. In 1800 he became a university lecturer and in 1809 was a full professor of botany, zoology, mineralogy and materia medica at Erfurt.
- Bernhardi was editor of Thüringischen Gartenzeitung (Thuringian Garden newspaper) and the Allgemeinen deutschen Gartenmagazin (General German Garden magazine). He was the last dean to the medical faculty at Erfurt prior to the university's 1816 closure.
