Population
[edit]Article says: population 44,73,759 ¿What mean?, must be wrong, in 1901 population was 1.936.565 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.34.44.172 (talk) 18:34, 24 May 2008 (UTC)
Corrected now, it is little lesser than that as 3,685,681 (Ref:Provisional Census Result 2011) Vikas Mathur 13:44, 25 January 2012 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Vikas.m (talk • contribs) [1]

[edit]This article desperately needs some referencing! At the moment, 30% sounds like a tourism flyer and another 30% sounds like it was written by schoolkids... 93.97.30.204 (talk) 12:30, 23 February 2011 (UTC)

POV in history section
[edit]There seems to be a bit of pro-Colonial bias left in the portions of the history section that were taken from Brittanica. Specifically the mentions of the princely state "gratefully" submitting to British suzerainty and "peace and stability" being a "hallmark" of the era of British rule. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.211.149.30 (talk) 04:45, 15 August 2014 (UTC)
Lonely Planet
[edit]"Jodhpur topped Lonely Planet's list of most extraordinary places to stay in 2014.[4]" - This is quite misleading. Lonely Planet actually referred to a particular luxury hotel on the outskirts of Jodhpur, rather than the city itself. I suggest this is removed? Maxlxng (talk) 08:44, 8 July 2015 (UTC)

History query
[edit]The following was written by an ip-editor on the ip's talk page rather than here.
Jodhpurs were FIRST "introduced" to the British in India in the 1800s HOWEVER Major Henderson, founder of the British North West Mounted Police chose them for his NWMP Force which would become the Canadian RCMP. Why no mention of all this in this entry? — Preceding unsigned comment added by User talk:2001:569:7BC3:7400:E85C:3DBF:1307:216D (talk)

Gallery of Jodhpur in the Main Page
[edit]I wanna add a Gallery section where we can add Main Street pictures, Main Tourist Attractions. So that People like me who are photographers can contribute in the photographs. Kushagra140 (talk) 17:25, 14 January 2021 (UTC)
- @Kushagra140: An article on a city doesn't have a separate "Gallery" section. However, you can add images to the relevant sections of the article where the subject of the image belongs (like adding stadium image to the Sports subsection). You could find "Gallery" section on that particular tourist attraction's article and add images there. TrendSPLEND ✉ 08:05, 15 January 2021 (UTC)
Showcase of Modern Jodhpur
[edit]I don't why you guys don't wanna showcase Modern Jodhpur on Wikipedia. I m trying to add modern landscapes of Jodhpur here but you all are removing it. This is unfair and Not good for Jodhpur too. You guys don't want Jodhpur to be developed. Kushagra140 (talk) 03:35, 21 January 2021 (UTC)
- Kushagra140, This article is not about Modern Jodhpur or the Ancient Jodhpur. It is about the real Jodhpur. The pics must convey the same. I removed the image of road panorama as I felt it was too large. It is linked by the link to images on commons link at the bottom of the page. So the users will read it. --Walrus Ji (talk) 04:13, 21 January 2021 (UTC)

Regarding your recent edit
[edit]In the previous edit, you took out the information about administrative officers from the Jodhpur page! Explain the motive behind the act. Albertx07 (talk) 13:50, 13 May 2024 (UTC)
- Hello @Albertx07, removed those administrative officers because there office is not coterminus with the city. Those officers are for the district as a whole and not for the city only. So if those officers are to be mention, that must be mentioned in the there respective district pages. Regards Curious man123 (talk) 07:46, 14 May 2024 (UTC)
- Earlier, you were informed that locating the details of administrative officers in almost all cities on Wikipedia is essential. You still disregarded and disobeyed that description by removing it from the Wikipedia page! Check your recent conversation in talk page of your own profile, you were already mentioned for the same. As a Wikipedia user, you must ensure that administrative officer information is removed or added to the District/Administration page. You neglected to add any information on the district page either!!
- Do not remove any information related to administrative officers from the page of any city. Kindly check your own user page's talk page, go to Title June 2023 Check Editor's reply i.e The government section says that "The civic administration of Patna is run by several government agencies and has overlapping structural divisions. At least five administrative definitions of the city are available; listed in ascending order of area, those are: Patna division, Patna district (also the Patna Police area), the Patna Metropolitan Region (also known as Patna Planning area), "Greater Patna" or PRDA area, which adds to the PMC area a few areas just adjacent to it and Patna Municipal Corporation area." so District Magistrate should be added
- Thanks & Regards! Albertx07 (talk) 08:02, 14 May 2024 (UTC)
- @Albertx07 I never said district magistrate or collector has no role but mentioning in the city pages dont make any good for city pages. If going by that logic, even state government also plays role in the administration but we dont include in the city pages. Furthermore, so for precise governance information these officers are meant to add on district administration pages. Curious man123 (talk) 09:13, 14 May 2024 (UTC)
- Also, check Ahmedabad district, Prayagraj district, Lucknow district and many more whereby district magistrate and collector names are mentioned in there district and not on there city pages. So adding in district pages makes more sense. Curious man123 (talk) 09:36, 14 May 2024 (UTC)
- If you follow this logic then should the names of politicians be on the city page?
- The name of politicians should also be on the Wikipedia page related to their area, why is it not deleted? Do not apply such logic by looking at other pages and if you have to apply it then edit all the pages.
- your act doesn't make sense at all...
- Thanks & Regards! Albertx07 (talk) 09:58, 14 May 2024 (UTC)
- Check these pages, Bikaner Nagaur Barmer Barmer Jaisalmer
- Surat Mumbai Chandigarh Patna
- Do not remove/delete, Administrative officers details from any page, you were already noticed for the same last year!
- Thanks! Albertx07 (talk) 10:04, 14 May 2024 (UTC)
- As you mentioned, mumbai and surat pages dont have district collector as i said. And as you said, i agrees with you about the member of Parliament or member of Legislative Assembly constituencies are not particularly coterminus with the city can be removed but for few like bigger cities could be exception. Curious man123 (talk) 10:07, 14 May 2024 (UTC)
- @Albertx07 my view is not about removing it at all. Only that are better represented at district pages. Curious man123 (talk) 10:11, 14 May 2024 (UTC)
- I respect your opinion, but details of administrative officer available on almost every city's Wikipedia page. So, you should revert your edit.
- Will work on your opinion, I'll edit district pages too..
- Thanks & Regards! Albertx07 (talk) 10:37, 14 May 2024 (UTC)
