Shooting claim inconsistency

[edit]

I've removed this recently added text:

As a page, he was present when the Puerto Rican Nationalists opened fire from the gallery. With fellow pages, Kolbe helped carry a wounded member of Congress off of the House Floor.

There's no source for this. Although this article states he was a page 1958-59, the article U.S. Capitol shooting incident (1954) states that the incident happened in 1954. Does someone have a source that documents his involvement? Cleduc 03:02, 4 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Mark Foley Scandal, possible category vandalism

[edit]

A user:Grazon with a history of category vandalism recently removed the Mark Foley Scandal category to this page, can someone check on that, I think he probably should be in this category and it should be re-added.Qrc2006 00:54, 10 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

2007

[edit]

Seeing as the 109th Congress ended Dec 9, why does this page list Kolbe's term as ending in 2007? Tim Long 08:04, 29 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Because that is how the US Congress lists term endings. The end of a session is not the same as the end of a term. In theory, Congress can be reconvened any time prior to the start of the next term. Quatloo 16:21, 29 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Jim Kolbe's ex-wife

[edit]

Even though many divorced politicians have prior spouses listed on their pages, Jim Kolbe does not. I found many sources that substantiate his former marriage but none of them bear her name. Perhaps because they divorced in 1992 before the Internet really blossomed, she has been ignored on websites. Nonetheless, it seems like a rather large oversight. Hello from the future. Almost seven years after this comment, I added her name and their dates of marriage. Not sure why it took so long for you to get a response to your request. Moncrief (talk) 18:59, 4 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Kolbe at Gabrielle Giffords victory party?

[edit]

I took this out of the article because I found no reliable source for it. When Giffords won the 2006 Democratic Primary, her closest challenger Patty Weiss, came to her victory party. That I found a citation for.William 21:57, 8 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Businessman?

[edit]

There is nothing in the article to support describing Kolbe as a "businessman", apart from the passing mention of him being a "business executive" (which a much broader term, encompassing many sorts of employees who would not be described as businesspersons) prior to his political career. This does not even begin to suggest that he was notable for his business activities, so I have deleted it per MOS:LEADBIO and MOS:ROLEBIO. Davidships (talk) 13:58, 7 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
