April 2019
[edit]This article talks about the Jewel like it hasn't opened yet, which it is now.

Actual pictures
[edit]I'm sure there are like thousands of pictures taken each day and uploaded to Instagram, Facebook & Co. But not a single one of Jewel can be found in Commons. We live in weird times... --Renek78 (talk) 19:01, 24 April 2019 (UTC)
- @Renek78: Did you check Commons:Category:Jewel Changi Airport? All the images there are actual pictures that were taken by me, albeit not in very high res as I merely used my iphone. One of them is already in this article. Also, we cannot just upload any and all pictures from Instagram and Facebook to Commons, as Commons only accepts pictures that have been released under a suitable free license. - @Renek78: Plus, most of the attractions won’t open until May/June, so getting good pictures of those isn’t possible yet. Bennv3771 (talk) 23:06, 24 April 2019 (UTC)
- Hi @Bennv3771:. No, I haven't seen those. Great pictures!
- It was more of a general complaint. People "donate" their personal data & pictures to for-profit companies. At the same time open projects like the ones from Wikimedia are not as much supported as one would wish by the majority. Anyway, thanks for the pics! --Renek78 (talk) 09:16, 25 April 2019 (UTC)
- @Renek78: Ah I see what you meant now. I was hoping that by now my picture on this article would have been replaced by something of higher resolution and quality. Oh well. Bennv3771 (talk) 09:21, 25 April 2019 (UTC)

[edit]This review appears to have been done in a matter of minutes by an enthusiastic, brand-new Wikipedian in their third edit. As such, it is not surprising that a number of the criteria were not properly checked, and that the article turns out to need some work before it meets said criteria. I have reverted the premature passage and pointed out some of the issues to Breakjan on their talk page, though perhaps it might be best to try to find an experienced reviewer to continue from here. - As I have just done with Breakjan's other review, Talk:Singaporeans/GA1 (their fifth edit), I am closing this review and putting the nomination back into the pool with the other GA nominations awaiting review, with no loss of seniority. In the meantime, I thought that it might be useful for nominator Feinoa to address some issues I noted in a quick look through the article, so there will be less for the eventual reviewer to find as regards fixes:
There are also some problems with Jewel Changi Airport. While it is more thoroughly sourced, much of the sourcing is future based: of restaurants that were announced as going to be opening in the future, rather than that the restaurants had actually opened and/or are currently doing business at the airport—not all announced or scheduled activity actually come to pass. There's also some problematic wording, notably in the Retail section (brands are not duplex stores, and "unique" is a "peacock" term that shouldn't be used), and inconsistent spelling ("meter" vs. "metre"), all of which should be flagged in a thorough review.
- Thank you, and best of luck going forward. BlueMoonset (talk) 20:18, 19 February 2020 (UTC)
