Orphaned references in Jetstar Asia Airways
[edit]I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Jetstar Asia Airways's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.
Reference named "fleet":
- From Jetstar Airways: Australian civil aircraft register search, using "Jetstar" as the search parameter. Search conducted 7 March 2010.
- From Singapore Airlines: "Singapore Airlines Fleet"
I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT⚡ 09:32, 29 May 2010 (UTC)
Relevance of single flight cancellation
[edit]I would question the relevance to this article of the single flight cancellation mentioned under the newly-created 'Flight cancellations and disruptions' heading (in the 'Fleet' section). That's also the only ever Wikipedia edit made by a Contributor from 202.156.88.163. ameel (talk) 00:37, 26 November 2013 (UTC)
- It has none IMO, so I removed it. YSSYguy (talk) 08:27, 26 November 2013 (UTC)
Merger proposal
[edit]- The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section. A summary of the conclusions reached follows.
- The result of this discussion was to re-merge History of Jetstar Asia Airways into Jetstar Asia Airways. SempreVolando (talk) 02:49, 16 May 2015 (UTC)
I propose that History of Jetstar Asia Airways be merged back into Jetstar Asia Airways. I think that the content in the History article can easily be incorporated in the context of Jetstar Asia Airways, and the Jetstar Asia Airways article is of a reasonable size that the merging of the History article will not cause any problems as far as article size or undue weight is concerned. The dedicated History article is not justified for a company of this size. SempreVolando (talk) 05:51, 23 March 2015 (UTC)
- The article on Jetstar Asia is much easier to navigate without this content. There's sufficient content to justify a separate article, and it's absurd to link justification to the size of a company. Unless you want to remove most of the content on the airline's history, this separate article is necessary. KEEP both articles.Hendrick 99 (talk) 06:10, 23 March 2015 (UTC)
- Support re-merge - given how much content of the history is unreferenced and has been for years, after cleanup the remainder could easily be folded back into the article whence it came. YSSYguy (talk) 10:00, 23 March 2015 (UTC)
- Support re-merge - most airlines don't have enough global importance to warrant a separate history page; even cultural icons such as Pan Am don't have their own history page on Wikipedia (it's all just part of a section on the airline page). Besides, it's not like the Jetstar Asia page is too long to navigate, and there are many other airline pages that are longer, such as the pages of virtually all the traditional legacy carriers. - @TheChampionMan1234: Full formal name, or a short form used in their publicity? Anthony Appleyard (talk) 05:17, 22 September 2015 (UTC)
- Oppose - They don't really advertise themselves as "Jetstar Asia" so I'm under the impression it's just the locals that call it "Jetstar Asia", On there website it states "Jetstar Airways Pty Ltd" and I can't "Jetstar Asia" mentioned on it at all .–Davey2010Talk 21:49, 22 September 2015 (UTC)
- Oppose use with Airways is more normal. In ictu oculi (talk) 23:56, 30 September 2015 (UTC)

Jetstar Asia Airways → Jetstar Asia – Need to be consistent with Jetstar and Jetstar Japan. The fleet also doesn't have the "Airways" painted on the aircraft, similar to the two related airlines linked before. The "Airways" is only included when referring to the full name of the airline. 103.37.49.211 (talk) 06:53, 25 March 2024 (UTC)
- Support per WP:COMMONNAME. Seems that "Jetstar Asia" is used more than "Jetstar Asia Airways". [1][2][3][4][5]. S5A-0043Talk 14:27, 25 March 2024 (UTC)
- Support per WP:COMMONNAME. There are slightly more search results for "Jetstar Asia" than "Jetstar Asia Airways" in Google. RPC7778 (talk) 06:47, 28 March 2024 (UTC)
