Opting in to VisualEditor

[edit]

As you may know, VisualEditor ("Edit beta") is currently available on the English Wikipedia only for registered editors who choose to enable it. Since you have made 50 or more edits with VisualEditor this year, I want to make sure that you know that you can enable VisualEditor (if you haven't already done so) by going to your preferences and choosing the item, "MediaWiki:Visualeditor-preference-enable". This will give you the option of using VisualEditor on articles and userpages when you want to, and give you the opportunity to spot changes in the interface and suggest improvements. We value your feedback, whether positive or negative, about using VisualEditor, at Wikipedia:VisualEditor/Feedback. Thank you, Whatamidoing (WMF) (talk) 20:12, 11 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. The Airbus official Press release clearly says the order is not firm, if you have a better source, provide it! SideshowBob7 (talk) 09:29, 21 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Your userpage

[edit]

I don’t think that the content on your userpage is good as it seems to accuse others of being hired by the CCP and PAP and calling them idiots. Would you mind changing this? Thanks. Nigos (talk Contribs) 05:25, 10 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Nigos Is it really necessary? The existence of those two groups are well-known to be fact, and I'm not accusing anybody in particular. Yny501 (talk) 20:31, 10 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
This is a violation of WP:POLEMIC and can result in a block if reinstated. CaradhrasAiguo (leave language) 00:03, 23 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@CaradhrasAiguo: You just have all the time in the world to do this don't you? I see that you really like spamming Wikipedia policies on everybody when you disagree with them. I'd warn you that it's not really appropriate behaviour, and besides you're not even at the level where you can decide if I'm allowed to be blocked or not. I'd wait for someone that actually has rights to make a clear decision before I change anything. Lay off the delusions of grandeur. Yny501 (talk) 00:08, 23 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I did not know about your existence until I saw you had reverted Taekhosong's edit. Perhaps you should first deflate your own sense of self-importance before asking others to lay off delusion of grandeur that they do not possess. CaradhrasAiguo (leave language) 00:13, 23 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@CaradhrasAiguo: At the very least I'm important enough to warrant you deleting my user page - a pretty uncommon sight on Wikipedia. You're the one that's making me important if anything, and you're just implying you're involved in some of the behaviours mentioned - again, I have not put any value judgement on those behaviours - and you feel bad that somebody else can see it, which again isn't my problem. Yny501 (talk) 00:16, 23 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
When your previous page was literally quoted as certain recently active editors resemble idiotic tools, an unambiguous violation of the second point of WP:POLEMIC (Material that can be viewed as attacking other editors...), it is hard to take anything you say seriously. This is as naked of a display of WP:WIKILAWYERING as I have seen anywhere on this branch of Wikimedia. CaradhrasAiguo (leave language) 00:23, 23 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Aiguo Again, you don't read the policy in full. WP:WIKILAWYERING states: use and misuse of the term - offence vs insult: the former is argumentative. I fail to see how your second sentence achieves this result. You are literally just putting policies on the table to show that you know the rules, but you don't really read anything in full, do you? Also, since you have the time, maybe you should respond to what I put on your talk page. Yny501 (talk) 00:29, 23 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Note: talk page content deleted as user has not responded but acknowledged receipt. Matter closed. Yny501 (talk) 01:54, 23 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 31 hours for contravening Wikipedia's harassment policy, as you did at Special:Diff/923377567. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  ST47 (talk) 04:01, 29 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Yny501:, your comments at Special:Diff/923377567 were way over any reasonable line of WP:NPA or WP:HARASSMENT, and your repeated reference to them as "Aiguo" when you are presumably aware of the note at the top of their talkpage asking not to do so also feels a lot like harassment to me. I'm blocking you for 31 hours for the personal attacks, and I'd recommend that you make every effort to avoid each other going forward, at least until tempers cool. It's clear that this isn't an isolated incident, and the next step is likely an interaction ban. ST47 (talk) 04:05, 29 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

Were the comments on Horse Eye Jack by my reporter reviewed? I hope everyone is held to the same standards. I agree my comments in that edit were not helpful, but I was reacting to the previous attacks made by the reporter and I apologise for being out of line. I used the term 'unhinged' in the context of my reporter's comments which said something about 'Sinophobic, pan-Green militants' and 'fascist USA sympathisers', which in retrospect was inflammatory at best. I did not intend to harass when using the name 'Aiguo', but if this is perceived as harassment I will stop doing so. Also the reporter made a reference to their talk page - I have no intention of editing their talk page, so I don't see how that's a get out of jail card. I will try to start assuming good faith in them again in the future, and I hope they will do the same (which I frankly haven't seen right from the beginning). Finally, is there a mechanism for determining the block length, and is there a way to only appeal the length of the block? Yny501 (talk) 06:54, 29 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Please read WP:NOTTHEM. You spend most of this unblock request talking about other people when you should be talking about yourself. The block will end on 11:01, 30 October 2019 (UTC). Any admin can adjust the block length, but you typically need to appeal the block for that to happen. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 08:11, 29 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
