Shouldn't the title of this article be "Jersey City Fire Department"? shirulashem (talk) 00:48, 31 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Jersey City's name is reversed similar to the Fire Department of New York. Rhvanwinkle (talk) 13:16, 31 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The dept is now known as the Jersey City Fire Dept and is no longer the Fire Dept of Jersey City. all the turnout gear and new rigs say jcfd instead of the old style fdjc. this article and url should be changed to reflect this

Kearney Ave is now a permanent house as the old house on boyd has been sold and is now deeded to a private citizen —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.197.167.5 (talk) 15:45, 24 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the proposal was previously carried out by another user without closing this discussion (and appears fairly noncontroversial).--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 14:00, 14 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Fire Department of Jersey CityJersey City Fire Department — The fire dept is now known as Jersey City Fire Department (JCFD opposed to FDJC) All the turnout gear and apparatus reflect the change. 12.236.224.130 (talk) 10:58, 7 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. On the city website, "Jersey City Fire Department" is used. (see [1]) Also, the emblem (seen on the Article page) indicates such use.--Stepanstas (talk) 14:47, 7 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Cleaning up the article

[edit]

There are multiple claims that are made in this article that are unsupported. I am in the process of redoing the page to conform to WP:FIRE-STRUCT. Mostly just cleaning up, formatting, etc. But If anyone has any sources for these claims please add them? I haven't been able to find anything to support them.

Additional it seems to me that both the Fire Company History section and the Apparatus Specifications sections are clear lists of stats. Not saying the fire company history is irrelevant... but that section is just a rambling paragraph listing when each company started. Additional it is all WP:UNSOURCED. Seems like the only real contributor other than myself has been an anonymous user. Would love to hear peoples comments. --Zackmann08 (talk) 22:40, 8 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
