- I agree with Kafziel. Biographies of living people may not use LGBT or religious categories unless the person publicly self-identifies with the label(s) in question and it is relevant to their public lives. She no longer identifies as a bisexual. Unless you can prove that she still does and was actually being sarcastic, then the categories should not be in there. Does this article really qualify for a featured article status?
[edit]I directly get to the point. I don't think this article qualifies to be a featured article.
1) Is the subject of this article really that important? Wikipedia is read by millions of people and thousands of children. The home page content should be thoughtful and intuitive. Is an article on a porn star really worth reading by school going children?
2)Style is not enough. An article should not be promoted to the status of a featured article just because its well written. The subject and the content, as well as its usefulness should also be tested.
3)And actually, it's not even well written. Some repetitive information, random list and unneeded photographs make this a very untidy article.
This is my opinion and I am very sure that none of this points is biased against porn stars and the porn industry. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Meetsangvikar (talk • contribs) 18:22, 5 January 2012 (UTC)
- You say you're not biased against porn stars but your first point has everything to do with her being a porn star and whether school children should be reading about a porn star. Do school children need to know such intricate detail about various battles that happened in wars which aren't even covered in their history texts? Probably not. But we have articles on them anyway. Wikipedia is written for everyone. Not just school children. As for your other points, if you feel it can be better written, then BE BOLD and fix it. You obviously had enough interest in the subject to read it. So why not fix it? Dismas|(talk) 18:30, 5 January 2012 (UTC)

Hi, guys, I'm here from the 3O board. There is, in fact, a guideline that says that such categories are not limited to place of birth: WP:Categorization of people#By place. That said, from a purely editorial perspective, I do think it's pretty weird to have "from (state)" categories from more than one different state. Has she ever said "I'm from (state)" or "My childhood in (state)" or something to that effect, that would indicate that she attaches particular meaning to one of the options? If she hasn't, maybe we should consider either choosing one (if I had to choose, probably Nevada, given her parents and early history as a Vegas showgirl, etc., but I'm 100% open to other opinions) or maybe getting rid of all the state categories. Writ Keeper ⚇♔ 16:56, 7 March 2012 (UTC)

Edit needed (header) - Article subject is a current pornographic actress
[edit]- The article's subject is not a former pornographic actress. The term "former" should be removed from the header.
- Jenna claimed to have retired from porn in 2008.[1]
- She began working again shortly after and has starred in 9 adult films since then.[2]
- Technically, she is a current pornographic actress until she announces her retirement from porn once again.
- There are no current reliable sources to show that she has announced retirement since January, 2011.
- The last adult film Jenna Jameson has starred in: Title: Jenna Is Timeless - Genre: Adult - Date of release 1/11/11.[3]
- This should be a good enough reason to make the change. --70.120.83.126 (talk) 07:22, 18 June 2012 (UTC)
That picture of her from "2005" is clearly not 2005. Looks WAY earlier. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:6C65:683F:FBDD:D867:AB0A:1C03:7114 (talk) 21:14, 10 May 2022 (UTC)
Penthouse modeling
[edit]Hold on a second—she did nude modeling with the intention of getting into Penthouse as a 17 year-old??? I just think that this is worth explicitly noting in the article, rather than just implying it, as that is child pornography, and it seems significant. ❤ Yutsi Talk/ Contributions ( 偉特 ) 06:09, 10 August 2012 (UTC)

Article quality issues
[edit]It has been suggested that this article be featured on the Main Page, however some issues regarding the quality of the article has been raised. They are:
- relies on sources such as AskMen.com, Tattoo.com, Blogspot.com, tattoo.com, DrewTewksbury.com, Daily Mail
- dead links
- Poorly organized
- Poorly written lede
- lots of short stubby paragraphs
- unformatted refs
- a lot of overlinking
I have done a little bit of work. I've re-organized it a bit. I removed some of the non-notable information from the lede. I replaced the Daily Mail references with a LA Times reference. Lots more work needs to be done.
The article will likely be sent to WP:FAR and will likely not pass. --Harizotoh9 (talk) 21:44, 16 March 2014 (UTC)
Removed
- tattoo.com
Replaced:
- Daily Mail with LA Times
- DrewTewksbury.com with Guaridan link [4]
However, the quality of the Guardian blog is only marginally better. I have some difficulty finding a reliable source for this movie. Help? --Harizotoh9 (talk) 22:18, 16 March 2014 (UTC)
Askmen is too heavily sourced to be simply replaced. Is it a WP:RS? The blogspot reference is also to her own personal blog. Can that stay? Does it adhere to WP:Aboutself ?--Harizotoh9 (talk) 22:20, 16 March 2014 (UTC)
- Hi Hariz, thank you for taking the time to notice this and bring up these issues. Yep, the article needs attention and updating. The sources are likely just a matter of convenience as to what came up on Google when it was edited. Better sources, especially about Jameson, are fairly easy to find. As I have time, I'll start working my way through the article. By the way, good idea about the notice in the Pornography project page. --Scalhotrod - Just your average banjo playing, drag racing, cowboy... (talk) 19:29, 18 March 2014 (UTC)
Religion
[edit]Can it be added that Jenna is a catholic? http://www.jewishjournal.com/thegodblog/item/jenna_jameson_porn_queen_and_devout_catholic_20080826 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=InpziprQCXw
- Yeah, I don't see a problem with it. The source seems to be reliable. --Λeternus (talk) 07:43, 10 September 2014 (UTC)
- I don't consider that to be a reliable source. Furthermore, as per the rules, religious and LGBT categories are only to be included in biographies of living people when the person publicly SELF-identifies with the label in question and it is relevant to their public life. She is not self-identifying in the source and it is not relevant to her public life. Asarelah (talk) 12:21, 10 September 2014 (UTC)
Religion
[edit]Isn't she now converting to Judaism? According to a couple of web articles, she is now dating an Israeli diamond merchant in Los Angeles, Lior Bitton. [1]2602:306:CDDD:1CD0:CDBD:B85F:E059:98AD (talk) 17:00, 11 June 2015 (UTC)

4.1 Relationships and health
[edit]The penultimate sentence in section 4.1 reads: “On August 5, 2016 Jameson announced that she and Britton were expecting their first child together." Britton appears as though it should be Bitton. Since this is the first mention of the name, using the full name (Lior Bitton) might be appropriate. Avurax (talk) 21:21, 8 December 2016 (UTC)

External links in a "Notes" section
[edit]This article has been elevated to B-class, and it has been apparently missed that external links have been placed in a "Notes" section, which is not for such external links. I have listed this at Wikipedia talk:External links and the Wikipedia:External links/Noticeboard. Otr500 (talk) 13:28, 7 October 2017 (UTC)
- Someone has fixed the external links in a "Notes" section, and removed the tag. This, however, created another problem. What we have now is a B-class BLP with too many "External links" that need to be trimmed. Four has shown to be acceptable and possibly five with consensus, but six is too many. AVN does not offer anything unique over Biography.com and IAFD appears to be an internet duplicate of AFD. I would suggest deleting the AVN and IAFD external links. Thanks, -- Otr500 (talk) 13:03, 14 October 2017 (UTC)

Break Up with Brad
[edit]I think we should remove "They legally separated and divorced in March 2001, after Brad discovered her sexual affair with Jorge Araya Montoya (whom she met on a visit to Costa Rica)."[1]
The citation used to support this claim doesn't have any back up for it.
Actually on this link which is a continuation of the first on, it states "March 2001: Jameson and first husband Hopkins finally legally separate and divorce." [2]

It just seems, as I said before, disingenuous to list "entrepreneur" first in her bio.
