Woah! Isn't this something notable? This article claims the guy is a successful recording artist? Should we really be speedying it. I can see there's plenty of work needs doing to clean it up, but that doesn't make it speedyable, does it? James James 13:31, 27 January 2006 (UTC)

  • That info is not mentioned in the article. From what I know of all of the deletion guidelines, the article itself is supposed to provide evidence of the subject's importance. Perhaps a speedy is a bit over-zealous (I am a deletionist so please excuse me!), but the article is really not very encyclopedic as it stands. I mean, "wife and kid" type of info is hardly what you look up in an encyclopedia is it? I'll give this some time for cleanup, but in its current state I genuinely think it merits deletion. Zunaid 13:58, 27 January 2006 (UTC)
Well, the article says he is a recording artist who has had a successful album and a couple of hit singles, which a bit of googling reveals to be the truth. I have cleaned it up into a serviceable stub. Have a look at it now. If you think it is fit for deletion, enter it for AfD. I think it would be sure to fail and you'd likely meet some opposition for even nominating it, but it's up to you. Wife and kid info is common in our articles, I think. Most biographies mention the existence of a family. There's no call for more detail than that though, I agree. Please don't put any more similar articles up for speedy unless you're certain that they are eminently deletable -- we're supposed to be building an encyclopaedia, not ripping it apart ;-) -- and I do ask you to show more consideration to the creators of articles, particularly when they are editors in good faith. A note on the creator's page, asking about "notability", would have been a good way to approach this. James James 23:51, 28 January 2006 (UTC)

Asphalt cowboy

I removed "Asphalt Cowboy" because I never, ever heard it on the radio and because the video for "Amarillo Sky" aired on CMT, I figured that "Asphalt Cowboy" would be out but it wasn't so I removed it, if anyone can give proof that it will be a single, they are welcome to add it back after "Amarillo Sky". Faris b 06:21, 18 August 2006 (UTC)

Well, we've solved that problem... "Armadillo Amarillo Sky" just finished its chart run, and his follow-up is a song called "Johnny Cash", which is the lead-off for a second, yet-un-named album Relentless. So no "Ashpalt Cowboy". TenPoundHammer 16:50, 18 February 2007 (UTC)
Ok, thanks. I'm glad, I didn't really like that song anyway. Thanks, Faris b 18:04, 18 February 2007 (UTC)

Pop 100 chart

I do not believe it's needed on the page. Afterall, this is COUNTRY music isn't it? Vala M 18:46, 28 April 2007 (UTC)

True, but if it can be verified that a country artist hit the Pop 100, then it belongs, at least in my opinion. It's very common for country songs to chart on the Pop 100. Ten Pound Hammer(((ActionsWords))) 17:45, 30 April 2007 (UTC)

There's not much more about him that needs to be on here. All the adult life has been added as far as i know, and so the adult life section might as well become the personal life section, since it pretty much tells the personals, or merge it into another section. Also, i'd like to split the discography from the artist's page, and put it on a separate page. I already made a discography page for the artist, and i was told to wait three or four days for any objection. User:Ryanbstevens —Preceding undated comment was added at 21:47, 12 February 2009 (UTC). healso toured with Grechen Wilison. Well, there was no objection, and i waited four days, and so i splited it. Proposed edits

There a few minor changes that need to be made, Jason wrote his first songs with Savannah based writer Robert Willis, he had help putting that first album together from Monte C. Willis, Founder of Encore Music Group. Encore had 5 number 1 hits before selling out to Warner. It was Monte who suggested the name change and who introduced Jason to several hit Nashville songwriters among them Keith Follose. You will find both Robert and Monte's name on that first album.

Aldean chose his stage name, at the suggestion of a family friend who noted there was already a fairly well known artist Jason D. Williams in Nashville trying to get a deal and that it could cause confusion.

Jason's first time performing in Nashville was at the Douglas Corner Cafe, he was the last artist to step up to the mike. The crowd had been been paying little attention to the various singers and songwriters who had graced the stage that night. Then Jason started singing one of his original tunes. A regular at the cafe recalled recently, "The entire audience stopped talking or whatever they were doing an you could hear a pin drop, we didn't know what it was, but we knew something was special about this kid". Truthman633, do you have any reliable sources for this information so others can verify it? -- GB fan 01:59, 14 May 2015 (UTC)

On the divorce papers filed by his attorney, his name is given as simply Jason Williams (no middle name). Has the article's source for his birth name been checked by anyone besides the person who added the name? --anon. 71.183.134.164 (talk) 19:56, 29 April 2013 (UTC)

Y

I also think that it is insulting to say that Williams is too generic. Paul Williams and Billy D. Williams would beg to differ. I knew Nashville would get confused and think it was the other...and Aldean was a cool sounding name, so I said lets go with that. truthman633 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 73.192.87.40 (talk) 19:39, 14 May 2015 (UTC)

R&B

I'm posting here because R&B is not one of the genres associated with Jason's music. It was mentioned in an article, which was used as a reference here, but that article doesn't even state that he sings R&B. It says him and other artists released songs with an R&B tinged country sound. If no one opposes, i'll remove it. --JesusFreak78 (talk) 22:27, 27 February 2018 (UTC)

"Champagne Town"

For some reason, the user Kuba Ali thinks that Champagne Town should be in the body of the article. It hasn't been named as a radio single, so it's unnecessary to add that information since it's already included in the promotional singles section in the Jason Aldean discography article. 50.232.92.83 (talk) 15:14, 19 November 2019 (UTC)

Thank you, maybe I made a mistake in the title of the single, but this news seemed significant to me. Of course, if you think the single is promotional, maybe you're right. I watched the interview, and did not hear such information. Thank you, good mood. Yours faithfully Kuba Ali(talk) 16:32, 19 November 2019 (UTC)

Financial Success In Personal Life and Updating Rewards

I added the fact that he earned 32.5 million dollars in 2017 just to update the previous fact. I left the other fact as it was his earning two years before and it shows his change. I also added the fact that he was on Forbes' Celeb 100 to show how much popularity he has gained within the world. I also added his net worth as I didn't see anybody mention it and he's accumulated that wealth over his lifetime. Last I mentioned arguably one of his greatest awards with the ACM Dick Clark Artist of the Decade Award and a brief explanation of what it was. I felt these goals were a good addition as they show how much financial success he has achieved through his music. I also updated the 2019 awards as there were no ACM awards for that year, I put the fact that he was nominated for both, entertainer of the year and Music Event of the Year and the fact that he won the aforementioned ACM Dick Clark Artist of the Decade Award.

That's not a reliable source either. Please refer to WP:RSP and WP:RSN before trying again. In general, reliable sources for personal financial information are extremely limited. --Hipal/Ronz (talk) 00:28, 10 March 2020 (UTC)
