His Father?
[edit]In the Early Life section it says that his parents divorced when he was three and that he was raised primarily by his mother. The following paragraphs are his father this, his father that during childhood years. Was that his father or did his mother remarry or did he live that closely that he went to his father's house every day?
I read an interesting quote in People Magazine that Aldean hasn't read a book in twenty years. I thought that was quite an astounding admission.Mylittlezach (talk) 01:21, 25 November 2012 (UTC)

Band Members
[edit]Hey all,
I made a significant change and want to lay out why I did it as some may not feel positively about this. Jason’s band members are very prominent in his circle. We see them on his media pages and vice versa. He also gives them more recognition than we see other solo artists give their members. Therefore, I feel they play enough of a role to be given recognition on this page. My rationale is that if someone viewed this page to learn about Jason’s music, they wouldn’t be necessarily learning something irrelevant, as they are likely to see these faces and hear the names. 4Guitars (talk) 23:37, 24 October 2022 (UTC)

About revert
[edit]Why was my edit reverted as unsourced? It is supported by the same source that is already used. At this point that sentence is word for word regurgitating what Aldean is saying. It is alleged lawlesses, not confirmed as stating as confirmed is not an accurate representation of the BLM protests. 174.251.66.27 (talk) 22:01, 19 July 2023 (UTC)
- First, the source’s sub-headline was “Jason Aldean's 'Try That in a Small Town' tells violent criminals their behavior won't be tolerated in rural America” (nothing to do with BLM or protests) with the lead, ”Country singer Jason Aldean released a new music video this week touting how small towns wouldn't put up with the kind of riots and lawlessness many cities across the country faced during the summer of 2020.”(emphasis supplied) The bold clause was (1) the reporter’s explanation of the video/song and stood on its own, (2) was not a quote from Aldean or from the video/song, (3) was verifiably true and did not depend on Aldean’s viewpoint or opinion, and (4) neither the video, song, nor Aldean mentions either BLM, the 2020 protests, or Black Americans.
- Second, the article clause to which you wish to add “that Aldean claims” is paraphrased from the source’s lead (the article reading, “… the kind of riots and lawlessness that many cities experienced”)(emphasis supplied) and is (1) a statement derived from the source’s reporter, not Aldean, and, regardless, (2) is, again, independently verifiable.
- Third, as stated, the information is not just from a viewpoint, it is independently verifiable, as follows. As of June 8, 2020, at least 19 people died during the subject protests.[1] Riots, looting, vandalism, arson, and property damage occurred[2] resulting in approximately $1–2 billion in damage, the highest recorded damage from civil disorder in U.S. history.[3][4] At least 200 cities in the U.S. had imposed curfews by early June 2020, while more than 30 states and Washington, D.C. activated over 96,000 National Guard and other peacekeepers.[5][6]
- In conclusion, the subject clause was the reporter’s evaluation, not Aldean’s. You did not, and cannot, supply a source that relates that Aldean directly said or wrote that the song is about “the riots and lawlessness that many cities experienced” in 2020. Instead it is a reasonable inference by the reporter who viewed the lyrics and video and which included news clips of the 2020 riots. Regardless, the statement does not depend on any opinion of Andean as it is independently verifiable.

- It is, objectively, a claim. I did not ask if it actually happened. If I wanted sources that it actually happened I wouldn't ask on the page for a country musician. And stop implying that I'm biasedly doing this when your tone indicates bias. (P.S. my IP changes frequently) 174.251.64.95 (talk) 06:05, 21 July 2023 (UTC)
- It is not a “claim” (i.e. an assertion of the truth of something, typically one that is disputed or in doubt) as you used it because it is objectively true. Your question was “Why was my edit [that Aldean claims] reverted as unsourced?” Because Aldean never claimed what you referenced, thus it was unsourced. If you can provide a source, let me know. You wrote, “At this point that sentence is word for word regurgitating what Aldean is saying.” That was not true. I’m not sure where you’re getting that I am “implying that [you’re] biased” or that my “tone indicates bias”. Perhaps condescension, but not bias, as your inquiry was based on a falsehood.
