Merge encaustic details to that article
[edit]There's info in the one note on encaustic technique that should be contributed to Encaustic painting. Located here, it's an unnecessary digression from the article's topic (the artist) into the general history of the technique. —Largo Plazo (talk) 05:25, 5 January 2014 (UTC)
The first few sentences underneath the Career heading seem out of place, as they highlight Yntema's artistic style and technique more than her career. If more information could be found regarding her artistic style, perhaps that could become its own heading in the article, under which the placement of information on technique would be more appropriate. Information unable to find sources
[edit]Here are some bits that I could not find sources for and are potentially WP:Original research:
- Effects of diffused light produce an atmosphere of nature in her work, which remains minimalist and abstract.
- Her work has been influenced by Miquel Barceló, Joseph Beuys, Eva Hesse, Agnes Martin, Robert Ryman, Antoni Tàpies and J.M.W. Turner.
- Yntema's archives are held at the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, D.C., The Newark Museum Artists Files and Library, Newark, New Jersey, and at the Contemporary Women Artists Files at Rutgers University Library, Princeton, New Jersey.
- born in in Fairfield, New Jersey.
Are there any sources for this information?--CaroleHenson (talk) 08:31, 5 January 2014 (UTC)
- And these:
- Los Angeles County Museum, Los Angeles, CA
- National Museum for American Art, Washington, D.C.
- New York University Library, New York, NY--CaroleHenson (talk) 08:56, 5 January 2014 (UTC)
Exhibitions
[edit]Under this heading, some of Yntema's exhibitions are listed; however, there is no reasoning given for why those specific exhibits were chosen. Are they her most popular, or well-known? Are they her most recent exhibitions? It may benefit the reader to know why those particular exhibits are being highlighted in this section. Richathanyou (talk) 20:40, 29 January 2015 (UTC)
Include Awards/Special Recognition
[edit]While perusing the references, I found an article [2] that mentioned Yntema received a special award in 1995 for her artwork. Awards and special recognitions might be beneficial to include in the Career section of the article, not only to make it longer, but to outline Yntema's success in her field.
