Old Jack's Boat

[edit]

We really don't need a separate paragraph on a children's TV show, which doesn't even have its own Wikipedia page, along with details of three of her co-stars. Smurfmeister (talk) 08:57, 20 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

As it's the most recent appearance, I think it may warrant more detail. Agree it could be trimmed. Martinevans123 (talk) 09:05, 20 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I've restructured it a little - TV, films, theatre. Needs more sources though. Ghmyrtle (talk) 10:12, 20 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I was hoping the ITV website might be useful for 'Benidorm' refs, but their serach facility is down. I'll keep trying! Smurfmeister (talk) 10:43, 21 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I agree that Old Jack's Boat can be trimmed down a bit, but I still think that both Little Dorrit and Old Jack's Boat should be treated separetly from her single episode appearances. Little Dorrit was a mini-series, while Old Jack's Boat has Duvitski as a regular cast member. Martinevans123 (talk) 11:18, 21 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Perhaps break them out with OFITG, Waiting for God and Benidorm then? She was also in a fair few episodes of Worst Week of My Life, so that could go with them too. I still think the three sitcoms above are her best-known roles though. Smurfmeister (talk) 12:12, 21 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I certainly agree they are her best-known roles. I was keen to keep the Old Jack's Boat direct quote about ice-cream Emily Scuttlebutt being "bonkers, really" as she seems to have specialiosed in this kind of "slightly scatty" character. But perhaps I am just being a bit bonkers. Martinevans123 (talk) 12:37, 21 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
No, it's a valid point. Maybe there's an interview lurking somewhere for extra support? Smurfmeister (talk) 15:21, 21 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Place of birth

[edit]

IMDb claims she was born in Nottingham. And there are several sources that say she attended Nottingham Girls Hugh School. Martinevans123 (talk) 16:04, 31 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Neither of the two sources cited for Lancaster are reliable. If you have even one reliable source that says Nottingham, I'm prepared to go with that instead.--Launchballer 17:42, 31 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Looks like her birth was registered in Lancaster, so we should find a reliable secondary source for that (and IMDb, though very useful, is not reliable in itself in any way). Crisso (talk) 19:30, 31 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Ah. I have just changed it to Nottingham with three new sources. They are not the best, but look a bit better than the previous two. Freebmd is generally a very good place to start for a place of birth. Perhaps we can find other better sources for Lancaster? Martinevans123 (talk) 19:39, 31 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
She was born in Morecambe, according to The Independent, which is certainly nearer Lancaster than Nottingham. Crisso (talk) 18:04, 23 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, a birth in Morecambe would normally be registered in Lancaster, so that's looking more likely, especially in view of the FreeBMD record. Martinevans123 (talk) 18:10, 23 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sounds about right to me too. One of her agents even says she's from Morecambe. Crisso (talk) 18:14, 23 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I've dispensed with two of the weak existing sources. We are just left with this one from "Nottinghamshire Live", which I am prepared to think was probably just a mistake. So I suggest we change to Morecambe, using those two new sources. Martinevans123 (talk) 18:27, 23 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
