Ancestry?

[edit]

This article has recently been categorized as Mexican, Argentinian or Chilean descent. Is there a source for any of this? Andy Dingley (talk) 13:47, 31 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I think the Latin-sounding name and the black hair are confusing people; she was born in Berkshire to Irish and Polish parents, and "Ramirez" is her married name. "Janina, who comes from good Irish-Polish stock (she takes her surname from her Spanish husband)" if you want a source. I wouldn't consider it appropriate for inclusion in the article—it has no obvious relevance to her work, and the fact that her ancestry isn't mentioned on either her website or the "about the author" on her books suggests fairly strongly that she doesn't consider it relevant either. ‑ iridescent 17:05, 31 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
