that before she entered the U.S. Army in 1942, Jane Douglass White had already composed the tune which would become the official "Song of the Women's Army Corps"?This Associated Press source indicates the subject composed the initial song version the night she was inducted. This newspaper article sums everything else up in one paragraph. This normally unreliable source confirms name, status, and authorship in the onscreen movie credits.- ALT1:... that before she entered the U.S. Army in 1942, soldier's show songwriter Jane Douglass White had already composed the tune which would become the official "Song of the Women's Army Corps"?

- Comment:
I am sorry for the long sourcing statement. With my newspapers.com account temporarily disabled, I'm unable to find a single source which says this in one fell swoop. This is not original research, however. The Kerbey source is clear about everything, but it's an unpublished dissertation. My googlebooks sources have gone dark on me from too many views.Sourcing now more compact.

- These three articles are new enough and long enough. The hook facts for ALT1 are cited inline, the articles are neutral, and I detected no copyright issues. Three QPQs have been done. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 05:48, 20 June 2021 (UTC)
