Merge

[edit]

I propose to merge Indian National Congress (Organisation) and Bharatiya Lok Dal to history section of this page since they are merely single paragraphs. -- Pankaj Jain Capankajsmilyo (talk · contribs · count) 01:34, 21 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

A merger for the BLD page might be appropriate, though it is arguably a distinct topic. INC (O) should probably be merged to the main INC page, not here... Vanamonde (talk) 12:54, 21 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support the merge of BLD. It can be written as a subsection in 'Constituent Parties' section. Oppose the merge of INC (O) into this page or INC page. It split from INC in 1969 and merged into Janata Party in 1977. And it participated in Indian general election, 1971, won about 10% of the vote share and 16 Lok Sabha seats. It should have a separate page for the readers to access detail with clarity. However that's just my two cents. — Tyler Durden (talk) 05:58, 28 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose any merger. INC(O) was its own party, and there is plenty of material to expand the article. --Soman (talk) 21:10, 5 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • This has been proposed for a long while, and there's no clear consensus here. Certainly consensus is against merging the INC(O) page: the BLD, possibly, but really there's just not enough input. So let's just keep the status quo for the moment: this isn't a formal closure, just a note to say there's little point in allowing the merge tag to remain on the page much longer. Abbreviation

[edit]

Is the abbreviation JP or JNP? — DaxServer (talk) 16:49, 12 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

In 1980 , 1985 general elections, official website of Election Commission of India was using JNP for Janata Party. But from 1991 general election, JP was used. In 2004 election, JP was used.Dshrm (talk) 05:31, 16 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
