Jahnavi River → Jahnavi – Primary topic, no ambiguous page of the same name exists, qualifies as per, WP:2DABPRIMARY. Hemant DabralTalk 23:19, 4 March 2020 (UTC)
- This is a contested technical request. OhKayeSierra (talk) 02:13, 5 March 2020 (UTC)
- Oppose Even if no ambiguous page exists, is the name unadorned the common name in English for these rivers? It doesn't matter if nothing else is at the base title if "XYZ River" is still the best title. Maybe best for a full RM? Snowfire (talk) 01:09, 5 March 2020 (UTC)
- Also qualifies as per WP:CONSISTENT, with other rivers that have "river" dropped in their titles i.e. Ramganga, Yamuna, Sarayu, Nandakini, Ganges etc. — Hemant DabralTalk 09:16, 5 March 2020 (UTC)
- Strong oppose Seriously @Hemant Dabral: What are you doing?!! In how many river pages have you unilaterally decided to drop the "river". The majority of the Uttarakhand rivers do have "river" in their Wikipedia page names; indeed the majority of the headwaters of the Ganges do. You cannot attempt to change in such en mass fashion without advertising on WT:INDIA, explaining clearly what you are doing and why, and how many rivers are involved. Wikipedia, especially its India-related pages, are already under-staffed. These sorts of flying-under-the-radar attempts at change begin to look disruptive. Fowler&fowler«Talk» 13:26, 6 March 2020 (UTC)
- I haven't moved any page that already has "River" added in their titles except one Sarju River, you can check the page history in case of suspicion. Kindly refrain from adding the dramatic reaction of shock and awe here. Got to assume good faith in other wiki users before you shoot out baseless allegations of disruptive editing.
I'm only asking how come some of these pages have "River" added next to their names and some don't??? Why is Yamuna is not titled Yamuna River, why is Ramganga not titled Ramganga River. Why are there inconsistencies in the naming of these River articles if we are to go by your standard to add "River" in all these River related pages titles. — Hemant DabralTalk 23:08, 7 March 2020 (UTC)
