This Article needs to be renamed, 'Jesse Arthur Younger'. As it is it is extremely difficult to search on. Michael David 12:59, 6 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

But he was well-known as "J. Arthur Younger". Schmiteye 20:18, 17 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Odd Language

[edit]

I'm bewildered by the phrase "the first Representative from San Mateo County, California". What in tarnation does that mean? Younger as a Congressman for part of the county had predecessors from 1856 when it was carved out of San Francisco County to Younger's election in 1953.

As a local and old-timer, I can confirm that he was always referred to, in California politics, as "J. Arthur Younger", not by his full name. Locally, the portion of State Route 92 in the San Francisco Peninsula is labelled "J. Arthur Younger Freeway" as a tribute. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2603:3024:182F:D100:A9CD:6022:221E:2974 (talk) 21:18, 19 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
