can isobars cross?????

no, they represent lines of constant pressure and can be used to infer wind directions and speeds.Dr Denim 19:34, 21 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Mayhap it would be benificial to have a section titled something along the lines of "Other terms using the prefix 'Iso'". And it probably wouldn't hurt to note that the counterpart to an isobar is an isallobar(sp?) which is a line of constant change in pressure...which is used for helping to determine the direction in which a low or high pressure system is traveling...Dr Denim 19:51, 1 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

There is such a page, Contour line, and I'm proposing to merge all the stub "iso-" articles into it. The merge proposal does not include the nuclear definitions, and would not replace the disambiguation page, but would only move the barometric material to the Contour line article--Natcase 04:42, 21 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
