Best French in Hong Kong?

[edit]

"Restaurant Petrus is regarded as one of the best French restaurants in Hong Kong" - Source for this? This sounds like it was lifted straight off the website. I only bring this up because I had the privilege to eat there, and unless the rest of the French restaurants in HK are worse, I would *hardly* classify this as best, let alone great. This needs a restaurant review in a newspaper to verify, but I'm skeptical. Jon914 04:56, 14 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Cafe Too

[edit]

Now this is something that I could consider best buffet (but that's just for sake of dicussion), and if you ask around, this is something you will generally see people gravitate towards. Of course, no source, so no claim made.

I have photos and my own memory to form an article, so if people want to see a page devoted to this, I can get one up that details what they offer. Jon914 04:56, 14 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Other Claims

[edit]

"highest elevated hotel in Hong Kong Island". I do not have a published source, but this is definitely true based on inspection (just look out the window). All I have is a photograph to back this up, but that's not acceptable by Wikipedia's standards.

"The world's largest Chinese silk painting, 'The Great Motherland of China' can be found in the hotel Atrium" - Also true but unverifiable :/. This painting was 50 stories tall at least. Jon914 04:58, 14 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

User:Readyforlara is trying to move this page to Island Shangri-La, Hong Kong. Back in April, this page was moved to its current location. While it seems that the subject is most often referred to as "Island Shangri-La, Hong Kong" I anticipate some dispute if this page is moved without first discussing it. -- Mufka (u) (t) (c) 14:30, 20 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Just to add, the GM of the hotel confirmed that that's the official name of the hotel and the full title (I'm a travel writer for CNN, WSJ etc so frequently communicate with them). The official Facebook is also this way so am not sure why anyone would object to it. (https://www.facebook.com/islandshangrila). User:Readyforlara 01:40, 22 August 2013 (JST)

Done For the record, your conversation with the GM holds no weight in the decision to move the page. -- Mufka (u) (t) (c) 18:40, 21 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
