Iroise = Celtic Sea
[edit]FWIW, two books where mer d'Iroise means Celtic Sea:

Name and Extent
[edit]The article says, "The 18th-century maps restrict "Passage de l'Iroise" to the channel leading north-west from Pointe Saint-Mathieu and keeping south of Ushant and the Ponant Islands"
A passage North-West of Pointe Saint-Matieu would be one of many tiny channels through between Ushant and the mainland. I read the text as saying that the Iroise is just a narrow strip of sea just south of the Ponants and Ushant which doesn't seem to be borne out by the reference. The reference 18th century maps show the Iroise extending south as far as Chausée de Sein and Point du Van in the South. — Preceding unsigned comment added by OrewaTel (talk • contribs) 06:24, 22 May 2013 (UTC)
