Question
[edit]Do you believe that there should be a section listing notable individuals who have not been inducted but are Jewish? I believe Peter Sampras and Boris Becker have some Jewish blood in them no? I also didn't see a criteria section for what constitutes a Jewish Athlete to be inducted Canking 15:46, 18 August 2007 (UTC)
- No. This is just a reflection of the specific Hall of Fame, and those that it chose to include. There are sections of notable Jewish (and Jewish American) athletes ... that, I would think, is where Sampras and Becker are reflected, and should be reflected. If the website does not reflect what the Jewish blood criteria are, also, I don't see how we can, but you might check the website's url, or email them if it interests you.--Epeefleche 18:27, 18 August 2007 (UTC)
Question, how could I help get someone on to the list? It's a crying shame Bill Goldberg isn't on here. 24.47.43.36 (talk) 18:57, 14 February 2010 (UTC)
location
[edit]Hi- I've marked the coordinates of the building on the campus where I'm pretty sure the IJSHF is located. If anyone has first hand knowledge, I'd appreciate confirmation.--Sreifa (talk) 07:18, 17 March 2011 (UTC)
crosses
[edit]i understand that the crosses after the names symbolize that the athletes have died. Although i am sure no one intended for this to be offensive, it is offensive. The cross is a christian symbol not a Jewish symbol. To put a cross after a Jewish name is not a respectable thing to do i would appreciate it that wikipedia would have religious tolerance and put a different sign to symbolize if the athlete has passed away. I mean no insult or disrespect to Christianity, but these athletes are Jewish a cross should not be put after their names.--207.230.209.138 (talk) 16:14, 12 August 2011 (UTC)
- Fair point. I would support you or anyone else replacing them -- I believe we have an alternative template somewhere. Best.--Epeefleche (talk) 18:43, 12 August 2011 (UTC)
- Done. --Ravpapa (talk) 04:28, 13 August 2011 (UTC)
Okay, what putz put the crosses back? Oy vey! Can we get some Stars of Davids here? Or use the aforementioned "alternative template"? This really is absurdity incarnate. Thanks. 68.37.54.53 (talk) 02:22, 1 August 2012 (UTC)
