I have reverted your edit to Battle of Be'erot Yitzhak because the coordinates you entered were not anywhere close to the battle, which took place in the original Be'erot Yitzhak site in the Negev. Please be more careful in the future, as most villages that were battle sites in that war were moved as a result of the destruction from the battles. Please also use the appropriate edit summary. Problems with your DYK entry

Hello. I reviewed your entry, Berl Katznelson, at DYK, and there were some large problems with how you used your sources. You have copied whole sentences and paragraphs without changing any of the wording. An encyclopedia entry must be written in the author's own words, using information he/she has learned from reliable sources. See WP:COPYPASTE for details on this matter. I have removed the copied text from the article. I am still concerned that the same copy-pasting was done with the offline sources I don't have access to. Please see the article's talk page. Coordinates for historical topics

Hi Sreifa! I noticed that you contributed a lot to Israeli history and archaeology-related topics. I was wondering if you were willing to help with finding the coordinates for some of the places and events listed here. I have been working over the past months to shorten this list and managed to reduce it from a few hundred to 57. The eventual goal of course to reach 0, but the more coordinates I add, the harder the remaining ones become to find. Some entries on that list can be removed entirely, but only after verifying that the exact coordinates cannot be established.

If you are interested in helping, please find the coordinates for as many places as you can (they have to be exact though) via Google Maps, and paste the link here to get the Wiki-format coordinates (alternatively, you can send them to me). Any entries you can find or remove because their locations are not known, would be much appreciated. I am also going to request help from other users. I see you already started working on it :) it is much appreciated. We should try to at least be the country with the least untagged locations (I think the current lowest is 27). Re: Coordinates

Hi Sreifa! First of all, thank you for adding coordinates to relevant articles. The effort is much appreciated. I think that Israel is now the most geotagged country (in terms of tagged articles vs. missing). In any case, I looked at the cleanup listing. Still trying to think of what to do with older battles. Re: Clarification needed

Hi Sreifa! I clarified myself on the Aryeh Sharon talk page. About the Beit Hanoun Wedge: I did write it, and also added the tag. The reason is that the sources I used are unclear on the matter, and hopefully someone else has a source that's more clear. The text says:

The railway bridge was left intact but rendered unusable.

I'd also like to know how that happened. Could be that they destroyed the tracks or something, but it's not clear from the source. I hope the explanation was helpful.

vandalism

What to do when a page has been repeatedly vandalized?

If it is vandalism by a particular editor, you should start by issuing warnings. When the editor has been sufficiently warned, you can report to Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism, where an admin can block, if appropriate.

If it is vandalism by multiple editors, you can ask for page protection. However, unless I'm misreading the history, I only see a couple reverts in the last week, which is not normally enough activity for page protection.

Suggestion for handling dead links

I noticed you recently removed dead links from Ta'ayush instead of finding replacements. Doing so makes it more difficult to find the sources if it gets buried in the edit history. You probably don't know, but you can use the Wayback Machine to find archived copies of most webpages (see WP:Rot#Repairing a dead link). Modiin Energy

I appreciate your edits at Modiin Energy, but "white paper"? Ouch. Is there a policy against including Template:TASE and other externally-linked ticker symbol in article prose? It's quite common at other articles. Also, regarding your change of "license" to "site," the sources use רשיון. Hi- I think, considering the number of TASE links the article contained, WP:SOAP applies. I should have written, that the article is not a financial report... IMO, רשיון is not accurate in Hebrew, either, even though that is how ME relates to the drilling sites. It seems like a PR term that sidesteps the fact that the sites are actual places where the ocean floor is being destroyed. It depends on the context. In an article about Modiin Energy it's natural to call the drilling sites "licenses," because that's how reliable sources refer to them when they talk about Modiin Energy. See, for example, this article from yesterday, which consistently refers to licenses, because these companies are getting rights to drill at these places. Now, it's true that articles like this one (not sure if it's reliable), discussing potential Hezbollah aggression against Israel's energy assets, don't portray the fields as licenses, but that's because they're being reported on in a different context – not about rights to drill with legal constraints and expiration dates etc., but about assets belonging to a country collectively.—Biosketch (talk) 07:04, 11 October 2011 (UTC)

A WP article should be factual, not business-oriented, as are the sources you refer to. I see no reason to to mention that the drilling at the sites named is done under license, but the named sites are drilling sites. Places that have been named by the drilling companies. Sandboxing copyright problems

I'm afraid that I've had to delete User:Sreifa/anafa and remove the copy of older versions of Ruth Amiran and Yemima Avidar-Tchernovitz from your sandbox. You cannot copy an article that is blanked for copyright problems in your userspace; every page on Wikipedia must comply with copyright policy. If you wish to rewrite an article, but do not wish to start from scratch, you have to do it somewhere else, such as in a word processor document. (I can't recommend that process, as there is a chance of creating a derivative work, as happened with Samar Alami; the best practice is to take the sources and start over.)
