Check for Corporate Sockpuppetry
[edit]The stilted, bizarre corporate doublespeak throughout this article reads as if it were taken directly from marketing materials. Either that or someone had a stroke which rendered them incapable of communicating in plain English. Whoever produced this ought to be checked for sockpuppetry. And legally required to keep 200 meters from a thesaurus. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.127.17.241 (talk) 06:09, 18 February 2020 (UTC)

If the ISD was yet another electronic toy
[edit]I think that main article would be plastered with CITATION tags and this reads like an advert
The bifracating spew of organization based acronyms replete with the jargon of mind control, well er looks like mind control?<br
We must redouble our efforts to be extra vigilant at all times against the forces which oppose us, but we must be ever so careful to never say what opposes us! |

I'd like to repair this entry to avoid deletion

I've watched this entry for many years hoping someone would update it or correct it. I thought that if no one else would do it, then I would like to try, even though I'm affiliated with the organisation. I'm happy to have removed anything considered inaccurate or misleading. zahed (talk) 18:17, 20 October 2022 (UTC)
- If you're affiliated with the subject, then the best approach is to suggest edits here on the talk page and let other users review/incorporate them. Thebiguglyalien (talk) 17:32, 25 October 2022 (UTC)
- Agreed. I will put more suggestions here if any come up but will leave it to others to clean up the existing entry. If there are issues with citations, please let me know and I will see if more appropriate citations exist. zahed (talk) 12:31, 29 October 2022 (UTC)
COI tag (December 2023)
[edit]Some editors of the page, like Zahed, are employees of the organization; in general, the tenor of the article resembles that of an advertisement or a PR release jp×g🗯️ 15:41, 23 December 2023 (UTC)
- Yes, as seen in the previous discussion, I have indeed publicly declared a personal connection to the subject of this article and stepped in to edit it only because the article was scheduled for deletion in October 2022. I'll propose further edits here on the talk page instead of editing the article directly as suggested to me in that discussion. zahed (talk) 16:26, 23 December 2023 (UTC)
why are employees allowed to edit it.
[edit]seems disingenuous to allow employees of the company to edit it. screams like something from the pr arm of the company. there is also very little info outside of that is provided from the company. I think this article should be deleted to be quite frank. it really hasn't changed much since 2020. The only thing I can find is that the founders are associated with the labor party. if kept, there should be some indication that this a far left organization 2603:8000:5000:E9D2:8458:16F0:F1DC:98E4 (talk) 00:22, 26 July 2024 (UTC)
Report about SimpleX Chat
[edit]On 4 October 2024, the ISD published a dispatch [1] that claims that neo-nazis are flocking to SimpleX Chat [2]. It is not clear to me whether the report is written in good faith or whether it's a clumsy attempt at discrediting SimpleX. Here's the (rather disappointing, IMHO) ArsTechnica coverage: [3]. Not sure if this should be mentioned in the article itself. Jec (talk) 10:02, 6 October 2024 (UTC)
- I am not sure there's any way to mention this stuff in a way that is not inherently farcical.
- "
During a 24-hour period on September 25, analysts observed three instances of users calling for the assassination of Vice President Kamala Harris, and one instance calling for the assassination of former President Donald Trump
"... wow -- not one, not two, but three instances of some random podunk on the Internet saying the same thing that the guy from Tenacious D said? We've got to take action immediately, or else they might take things to the next level and start writing songs for the Kung Fu Panda 4 soundtrack. What else have we got? The looming spectre of "militant anarchist literature
"?? Uh, okay: en:wikisource:The Conquest of Bread, en:wikisource:The Psychology of Political Violence, en:wikisource:A Handbook of Anarchy -- what is this, 1906? jp×g🗯️ 21:12, 6 October 2024 (UTC)- I agree, it's possibly part of a clumsy campaign to discredit SimpleX. Given that this is mere speculation, how do we report it in the article? Jec (talk) 09:34, 7 October 2024 (UTC)
