Why is this Notable?
[edit]A couple of editors have said it is "obvious" that it is notable, but I cannot see any evidence of it. From what is in the article, without any references, there is nothing to distinguish this from millions of other hotels / motels / traveler accommodations around the world. What makes it notable? Has it "received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent"? (If so, what?) Is it on some register of important facilities? (If so, what?) Is there some other claim to Notability?
- I agree I've added a notability tag if nothing turns up it can be taken to afd. Theroadislong (talk) 15:56, 22 February 2015 (UTC)
- Has anyone tried a simple Google Books search? There is a book called id=PefpAQAAQBAJ&pg=PA62&lpg=PA67&focus=viewport&dq="Innsbrucker+Hütte"&output=html_text Six Mountain Hikes from around the world that devotes pages 62-66 to a description of a hike to the hut and a night spent there. What distinguishes it from all those other routine hotels and motels is that it is not accessible by road and you have to hike strenuously many hours uphill to reach it. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 06:48, 23 February 2015 (UTC)
- Here is significant coverage in a "Innsbrucker+Hütte"&output=html_text German language book. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 07:07, 23 February 2015 (UTC)
- Here is "Innsbrucker+Hütte"&output=html_text another book in German That devotes two pages to the hut. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 07:11, 23 February 2015 (UTC)
- And here is a German language website with information about the hut. It appears that at least 20 German language books discuss the hut. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 07:20, 23 February 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks for the help but I don't read German so can't work out which references to add. Theroadislong (talk) 09:38, 23 February 2015 (UTC)
- The first source I mentioned is in English. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 16:01, 23 February 2015 (UTC)
- The link doesn't lead anywhere though. Theroadislong (talk) 16:20, 23 February 2015 (UTC)
- Ok I found it..but sorry it's hardly an in depth reference, just a passing mention with nothing at all to confer any notability! Theroadislong (talk) 16:25, 23 February 2015 (UTC)
- I think that over four pages of prose describing the author's hike to the hut and a night spent there is more than a passing mention. The terrain where a mountain hut is located contributes to its notability. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 23:06, 23 February 2015 (UTC)
- Ok lets add it as a reference, as you say it "contributes" to the huts notability, it's not enough on it's own though. Theroadislong (talk) 08:43, 24 February 2015 (UTC)
