[edit]The name is prob mainly German, as indicated by the list of Ingos. It certainly occurs in Sweden too, with a lower frequency.
- "Ingo" means "protected by Yngvi"
might be too exact. "Ingo" might as well be a transformed "*ingwaz", here and there alleged to have an original meaning "lord". Ingwaz the god (Yngve Frej) was a "lord", c.f. Ba'al. Rursus dixit. (mbork3!) 16:34, 16 May 2010 (UTC)
