do we really have to bear with somebody citing solzhenitsyn that 250k people died digging the volga canals? cmon people

'Industrial production in the period 1928–1937 increased 2.5–3.5 times, that is, 10.5–16% per year.' - This claim cites pp 264 of S.G. Wheatcroft et al, but I cannot find any evidence for the claim either on that page of the article or elsewhere.
