Just for the record, the decision to merge the biography into the book does not reflect the majority views from Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Myla Vicenti Carpio. Including the original proposal to delete, there were 2.5 votes to delete (Xxanthippe voted "Delete or Redirect"), 3.5 to merge, and 11 to keep. The result should have been to "Keep" or "No consensus." Carpio does more than just write. Yuchitown (talk) 18:32, 17 April 2023 (UTC)Yuchitown[reply]
You can request a review of the decision at WP:DRV if you first raise it with the editor who closed the discussion. My advice is that if you try to argue it based on the number of !votes, you will not succeed, as it is never about number of opinions. This is not me expressing any opinion on the merits of the close, I argued to keep the article. CT55555(talk) 18:42, 17 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Right. I just wanted to point this out. I can't believe we already wasted so much energy discussing an bio that far superior to many out there. Yuchitown (talk) 19:56, 17 April 2023 (UTC)Yuchitown[reply]
I do agree. The logic that one book she wrote is notable, while she, the author of the book who has done so much more than one book is not, really shows how illogical Wikipedia guidelines can be. CT55555(talk) 20:00, 17 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@User:Eddie891 in the context of at least three of us being surprised by how this was closed, I wondered if you had any comment, if you would find a request for deletion review to be reasonable in the circumstances? CT55555(talk) 21:26, 22 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I think any time a participant in an AFD can't understand the closing as how it fit with consensus, DRV can be justified. I will note that, even in reviewing, I can't see how I would have closed differently, when considering that AfD is not a vote, and wikipedia policy. But by all means feel free to put it up for review. Eddie891TalkWork21:45, 22 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
