Requested move 08 May 2015
[edit]- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the move request was: Move. After a full month and a relisting, we have rough consensus that the proposed title is preferable. Cúchullain t/c 13:14, 8 June 2015 (UTC)
In Paradisum (Symfonia album) → In Paradisum (album) – Unnecessary dab, no other articles on albums named In Paradisum exist. See also Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Albums/Archive 50#Men of Honor (album) or Men of Honor (Adrenaline Mob album)?. --Relisted. - This is a contested technical request (permalink). Anthony Appleyard (talk) 21:31, 8 May 2015 (UTC)
- @Victor Lopes: In Paradisum (disambiguation) lists 3 albums. Anthony Appleyard (talk) 21:31, 8 May 2015 (UTC)
- Oppose - a totally non notable Finnish metal album gets a stub because of Wikipedia fan creates a stub. Two more notable (in books) albums don't get album stubs but only get mentions and redirects because no Wikipedia fan creates a stub. Nethertheless In Paradisum (Cecilia Bartoli and Bryn Terfel album) and In Paradisum (The Hilliard Ensemble album) exist in sources and in articles. Please User:Victor Lopes per WP:DAB we do not disambiguate by what articles are created. In ictu oculi (talk) 22:16, 8 May 2015 (UTC)
- When something is "totally non notable", we request its deletion... don't we? Also, I was merely applying WP:SONGDAB, and per that talk page above it seems other editors tend to apply my reasoning too. SONGDAB is not specific when it says "exist" (even you started a discussion in order to try and make SONGDAB sound less vague, and I even supported it), but it never evolved much. Unless we straighten that out, there will be always two conflicting lines of thought. Victão Lopes Fala! 17:41, 9 May 2015 (UTC)
- But we don't, they are far to many fans creating stubs of pop albums and songs to run them all through AFD. In this case there are two equally or more notable albums - by Bryn Terfel and by Hilliard Ensemble which would easily be broken out if fans existed, the fact that wikipedia's editor demographics don't make this likely doesn't change the fact that readers may well be looking for In Paradisum (Cecilia Bartoli and Bryn Terfel album) and In Paradisum (The Hilliard Ensemble album) not this one. And it is an album by the Finnish metal band Symfonia so what is the problem? Other wps don't have the en.wp craze for hiding bands, in this case there's no reason to obstruct the reader. - Actually, they kinda do. We do it like this at the Portuguese Wikipedia. Anyway, it was never my intention to "hide" anything, it's just about simplifying titles. You created those two redirects at the start of this discussion but none of these albums are mentioned at the target pages, so I can't really see what purpose they are serving. I know it sucks that older albums and songs are less likely to get a decent coverage around here - and I talk from experience - but I prefer to give readers no information at all if the other choice is to give them false hopes, like we are doing right now by implying that we have another article on an album named In Paradisum when we lack any info whatsoever. - Well, WP:Naming conventions (music) would indicate we give readers looking for the Cecilia Bartoli or Hilliard Ensemble albums at least the option of letting them go to the little info we have. Better than forcing them to go to a Finnish metal band. It's not as if the Finnish metal band album article is anything more than a stub anyway. In ictu oculi (talk) 09:44, 18 May 2015 (UTC)

- Support per WP:CONCISE, as this is the only article of this name. No point in making it more difficult for readers to find actual articles based on the existence of topics which may or may not ever have their own. --BDD (talk) 17:28, 1 June 2015 (UTC)
