Revisions to the name list
[edit]I keep revising the name list because I added it with out realizing that it would be better to simply fix the names to fit proper Igala orthography I even put links to prove it but the user https://en.m.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User:Vif12vf&action=view keeps Changing my revisions an putting ludicrous statements to justify he’s changed if Wikipedia is going to just allow any random that knows nothing and even rejects proof to edit just because they are a member then it is not a serious encyclopedia I’m sorry but I don’t know how to do all the technical symbols stuff for Wikipedia but I have tried my best all I can hope for is that someone high in Wikipedia sees this or that a Igala person that has created an account goes here an sees this I am done — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2603:9001:8204:a900:4963:37b1:5fe2:2b8e (talk) 16:40, 27 May 2019 (UTC)
- From what I’ve seen your revisions where correct in the Igala language C doesn’t exist and names with. C are written with Ch also the name Akogu is wrong it is Akogwu the person that keeps changing your edits is simply one that lacks knowledge on Igala Igala OmOnu (talk) 00:38, 28 May 2019 (UTC)
Due to persistent editing by a certain editor certain realities cannot be added to the Igala kingdom page
[edit]A user of Norwegian descent from what I have seen keeps editing the page to remove proper edits done to the page for the sake of proper representation of the Igala race so I cannot do much to help the situation because I fear he will just edit it again Igala OmOnu (talk) 00:32, 30 May 2019 (UTC)
- @Igala OmOnu: Please focus on the content of the article, not the other editors. Your proposed changes would gain more traction if you were using the talk page to mention reliable sources for the orthography. —C.Fred (talk) 00:46, 30 May 2019 (UTC)
I would like to but the only sources I could give you were the same sources used by the IP address I know the IP address person they want nothing to do with Wikipedia anymore anyway those sources are as reliable as they come as they are focused on Igala culture and history and names when those sources were added as citations in order to stop the continued persistent and quite frankly unintelligent editing of the names of the great AmÀtá they were rejected so idk what else to do for you if Igala people cannot even put down their names properly the idk who else is apparently better to do so the only thing I can say is that this page is not reliable only because of that part which someone attempted to change in good faith only to be attacked and have the page they worked hard on Locked from them but an editor who has nothing to prove that they are knowledgeable about the topic Igala OmOnu (talk) 04:37, 30 May 2019 (UTC)
- Thank you for including a link to the paper by Gideon Sunday Omachonu, PhD, AvHF.[1] Even though I don't see where it was published in a refereed journal, it was presented at a conference, and he did cite other researchers, so it appears to be a reliable source. Based on that, it would appear that the orthography uses ch. I also feel that the burden of proof is now on proponents of the c spelling to show that it is widely used and accepted academically. —C.Fred (talk) 12:00, 30 May 2019 (UTC)
Spelling of Ata
[edit]Ata/Attah are are t he most common spelling for the Ata of Igala but is properly spelled as Àtá when spelled in the Igala Latin letters but can be properly spelled as Ata since it is about the same phonetic pronunciation Atah while It has been used is not a proper correction, I forgot to put this in my explanation when I published the changes, there are often spelling differences between Igala people on this issue but most Igala scholars contend that the proper spelling would be Àtá Igala OmOnu (talk) 06:43, 9 October 2019 (UTC)
