Change "allegoric alchemist" into "symbolic alchemist"
[edit]It is more appropriate to call Ibn Umail a mystical and symbolic alchemist than an allegoric alchemist. The corresponding subtitle and text should be changed accordingly. Ibn Umail explicitely wrote an "Explanation of the Symbols" saying that the sages spoke "a language in symbols" (Book of the Explanation of the symbols - Kitab Hall ar-Rumuz, Edited by Th. Abt and W. Madelung 2003, p. 3.8; see also: p. 5.20 ("symbols of sages"), p. 145.2 ("reveal with symbols"), p. 151.3 ("dog as symbol")). Also, Ibn Umail gives a huge list of names for the stone, the water, etc. thus refering to one inner mystery or religious experience, which cannot be fully explained (see M.-L. von Franz, Psychological Commentary on Ibn Umails "Book of the Explanation of the Symbols - Kitab Hall ar-Rumuz", Corpus Alchemicum Arabicum 1A, Zurich 2006, p. 11, 15, 26-7). Whereas in an allegory, the allegory can be replaced by one word or one phrase and thus be sufficiently explained (see Th. Abt, Psychological Commentary on Ibn Umails "Book of the Explanation of the Symbols - Kitab Hall ar-Rumuz", Corpus Alchemicum Arabicum 1B, Zurich 2009, p. 67-71).--BineMaja (talk) 10:33, 24 April 2017 (UTC)
