Did You Know
A fact from this article appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the "Did you know?" column on July 15, 2021.
The text of the entry was: Did you know ... that "I Found a Way", written by Drake Bell and Michael Corcoran, became the theme song for the Drake & Josh show?

Theme Song

[edit]

Found A Way is the theme song to the hit Nick show Drake and Josh

Telegraph

[edit]

Found a Way is also the second track on Drake Bell's first album entitled Telegraph, Telegraph is a Rock/Pop Album; inspired by a lot of Drake's all-time Favorite Music Artists

Edit request on 24 October 2012

[edit]

I think "I found a way" needs to be redirected to "found a way", for some reason it redirects to "telegraph" even though there is a separate article for "found a way." Could you please accommodate this? Thanks.

Jingle38 (talk) 02:22, 24 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed, so Done --Redrose64 (talk) 12:31, 24 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Edit request

[edit]

This page is a WP:Double Redirect, and show be redirected to Telegraph_(album).

Done --Redrose64 (talk) 23:08, 9 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Better redirect

[edit]

Since we now have a standalone article for the song itself (Found a Way), it makes no sense to continue redirecting to the album page. This page should redirect to Found a Way. CtP (tc) 20:44, 16 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Done I've unprotected the page too. — Mr. Stradivarius ♪ talk ♪ 01:45, 18 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello there! I'll begin this review by assessing the infobox and lead section. SNUGGUMS (talk / edits) 02:48, 29 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox

[edit]
Cannot find a source, and I doubt if the song had a special cover of its own.
  • Where did the recording time come from?
Cannot find that either. Both removed.
  • If March 8, 2005 is based on when the Drake & Josh soundtrack was released, then don't use that here when such an inclusion can mislead viewers into thinking "I Found a Way" had its own release independent of that and Telegraph
Removed.

Lead

[edit]
  • Starting two consecutive sentences with "The song" feels repetitive.
Using "It" for the latter.
  • "promoted" feels like a stretch when (unless I'm missing something) Bell didn't appear to be advertising anything in particular when performing this track
Rewritten.

More to come later. SNUGGUMS (talk / edits) 02:48, 29 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Background

[edit]
  • "during an interview in September 2013"..... from what I can tell, this was actually from September 2018
Corrected.
  • I'd space out "rockstar"
Done.
  • "that was memorable to the show"..... let's be more precise and say something like "that could be identified with the show" or "that could be associated with the show" since Bell said he wanted people to specifically know that Drake & Josh was on whenever they heard it as opposed to other shows or a commercial.
Went with the former.
  • "Bell said to Hartman" → "Bell told Hartman"
Changed.

Release and lyrics

[edit]
  • Did this not have a release outside of the show's soundtrack or Telegraph? Either way, I'm finding February 22, 2005 in what was used for the former, not March 8.
Corrected.
  • "always" might be outdated since hearing the correct lyrics, so perhaps use "often" or "frequently" instead
Rewritten.

I'll minimally have "Critical reception" up in my next batch of comments. SNUGGUMS (talk / edits) 15:38, 30 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Critical reception

[edit]
  • It feels repetitive to use "writing for" twice in a row for critics
Changed.
Corrected
Removed.

The rest of this article will most likely be assessed in one go. SNUGGUMS (talk / edits) 18:31, 4 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Promotion and impact

[edit]
  • The section's current title is misleading; it doesn't discuss how the song impacted anyone/anything (others performing covers doesn't count), and see my above comments on how the song hasn't served as promotion for something (as far as I can tell). Just call it "Live performances".
Changed.
  • Try to avoid descriptions like "recent" that are subject to change (unless it's a more specific thing like "more recent" or "most recent") per WP:RELTIME. You're better off using dates for performances, and I'd add these for each of the entries listed here.
Added and arranged the content chronologically.

Credits and personnel

[edit]
  • Flawless!

References

[edit]
Added.
Done.

Overall

[edit]
  • Prose: Needs some copyediting
  • Referencing: Not everything is properly attributed, and a couple references have formatting issues
  • Coverage: As far as I can tell, all of the major aspects have been included
  • Neutrality: The dubious use of "impact" feels like fancruft
  • Stability: Looks good
  • Media: Could you perhaps add a photo of Michael Corcoran or Dan Schneider? Either way, I've looked more into the art work, and removed that when it can't be found anywhere legitimate and most likely was fanmade.
  • Verdict: Beginning now, I'm putting the nomination on hold for seven days. SNUGGUMS (talk / edits) 04:32, 10 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello SNUGGUMS, and thank you for the review. Shoot for the Stars has said on their talk page that they have retired, so I doubt if they will be able to address your points. I am willing to take over, but I will be unavailable until the 15th. I will try to wrap things up in the two days I will get, so please consider keeping this open until then. Thank you. — The Most Comfortable Chair 07:17, 10 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Didn't see that right away, The Most Comfortable Chair. As long as somebody addresses everything before the 17th, it has a chance of passing, so keeping this open until the 15th doesn't sound like a problem. SNUGGUMS (talk / edits) 13:42, 10 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
SNUGGUMS, I got to spare some time today and I believe I have addressed all points. I added an image of Bell because I was not able to find Corcoran's. — The Most Comfortable Chair 16:49, 10 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
No qualms with File:Drake Bell 2007.jpg, and it's a good thing you could fix up the page so soon! I'm now passing the nomination. SNUGGUMS (talk / edits) 17:25, 10 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • ALT1... that in Drake Bell's "I Found a Way", it is "It's gonna take some time to re-align" instead of "realize"?
  • ALT2 — ... that according to Drake Bell (pictured), his fans usually sing "I Found a Way" incorrectly?
  • ALT3that according to Drake Bell, his fans usually use "realize" incorrectly instead of "re-align" in "I Found a Way"?
I prefer ALT2 because it is cleaner and hooking. The song is relatively popular so these hooks will draw a little more attention to the article I reckon. — The Most Comfortable Chair 14:55, 20 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for the offers. Striking two as you and I like ALT2 better than ALT1 and ALT3. I added "pictured" to it. I still prefer the original as doing justice to the other creator, and having the song linked first. With ALT2, the author will get the clicks. Up to a reviewer. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 18:17, 20 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • This article is a newly promoted GA and meets the newness and length criteria. The image is suitably licensed, the hook facts are cited inline and either ALT0 or ALT2 could be used, the article is neutral and I detected no copyright issues. A QPQ has been done.
