Director
[edit]How do I find out who directed the video? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.75.229.90 (talk) 23:34, 22 October 2009 (UTC)
Justin Timberlake
[edit]Was it just me or did JT make another cameo on this music video? If this page gets expanded much then it should be mentioned. Fatrb38 (talk) 09:15, 14 February 2009 (UTC)
- It's just you. --208.38.59.163 (talk) 15:34, 20 March 2009 (UTC)
Summary
[edit]The summary is more of a satire of the song instead of an actual summary. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.188.2.180 (talk) 08:14, 18 February 2009 (UTC)
- It only seems that way because the song and video are themselves satire. Slurms MacKenzie (talk) 19:00, 22 April 2009 (UTC)
list of songs parodied
[edit]Do you think we could list the songs this video parodies most? I mean those that most prominently feature yachts in their music videos.. from the top of my head I can think of Akon's I'm So Paid and Jay-Z's Big Pimpin', for a start. --Waldir talk 11:19, 7 March 2009 (UTC)
- It's a parody of rap music/videos in general, lists are discouraged anyways. --208.38.59.163 (talk) 15:34, 20 March 2009 (UTC)
- Mention of those videos have been made in the allusions section.--Esprit15d • talk • contribs 12:44, 23 April 2009 (UTC)
- There is another song parodied in a way... the section where T-Pain sings "I'd never thought I'd be on a boat, it's a big blue watery road.." is reworded from another of his songs (same tune, different lyrics). I'm not sure which song, but if someone else does, it should definitely be mentioned.
- Mention of those videos have been made in the allusions section.--Esprit15d • talk • contribs 12:44, 23 April 2009 (UTC)
- How is something a parody if it's the same as the source material? --24.103.173.3 (talk) 06:13, 11 January 2010 (UTC)
- it's called self-parody which T-Pain has done in the past —Preceding unsigned comment added by 134.193.112.148 (talk) 01:10, 19 April 2010 (UTC)
Mention of the facebook quiz doing the rounds "Are you on a boat"? Almost everyone ends up being "on a boat", btw. 141.14.245.148 (talk) 12:23, 23 April 2009 (UTC)
Jorma Taccone
[edit]This sentence "The video frequently shows flashes of the left-out Taccone at comparatively mundane places..." appears to reference some part of the synopsis that may have been subsequently cut. There is no mention of the beginning where he is passed over in favor of T-Pain, and his name is not linked to his page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.125.2.134 (talk) 16:36, 10 May 2011 (UTC)
Whose boat was that?
[edit]Was that boat just a loaner that the record company scored for this video or did TLI know someone with a yacht? Tre.fire (talk) 05:33, 17 May 2009 (UTC)
Jonas Brothers
[edit]isn't the whole clip kinda a parody of that Jonas Brothers clip where they are sitting by a pool and get a script for a clips? --TiagoTiago (talk) 04:59, 31 May 2009 (UTC)
- No. The Lonely Island in numerous interviews have discussed the various rap vidoes and groups they were referencing. Let's just the Jonas Brothers haven't come up.--Esprit15d • talk • contribs 14:59, 11 January 2010 (UTC)
the mermaid
[edit]2:47 in the video, there is a mermaid behind t-pain. is that a cameo? 209.105.207.151 (talk) 00:28, 10 August 2009 (UTC)
- If you believed when he said, T-Pain fucked her. --TiagoTiago (talk) 18:43, 30 August 2009 (UTC)
- It looks kinda like Keri Hilson Ms.henrick (talk) 17:19, 16 June 2010 (UTC)
Borderlands
[edit]I do believe this song is referenced in the video game Borderlands in the secret trophy/achievement "You’re on a boat!" —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.142.130.20 (talk) 03:12, 14 October 2010 (UTC)
Picture of Poseidon
[edit]The picture of Poseidon in the song is orginally from the game Age of Mythology I believe.115.64.124.141 (talk) 07:17, 1 March 2012 (UTC)
