[edit]It would be very helpful to add two phrases to this article so it would be better found by people who are searching this data: "Hybrids Sales Figures" and "Hybrids Statistics".
- For the time being I am trying to improve the main article about HEVs and PHEVs, but you could add new sections such as sales in key states or metro areas (California would be a good start), or even change the article name to make it more comprehensive (HEVs in the US?). You could also restore here the edit you made in main HEV article, but more WP:NPOV, basically with less adjetives and qualifiers, in general be careful when using info from serious blogs or sites from advocate groups, some of them have valuable info. Titles of new sections will achieve better hits with Google. And, please sign your edits!-Mariordo (talk) 05:08, 27 March 2010 (UTC)

Historical sales of hybrids in the United States → Hybrid electric vehicles in the United States —
This article was created as a result of importing the total sales table from the main hybrid electric vehicle article, because it was to much detail for a page already crowded and that has to have a worldwide view. As I have made improvements to the article I realize that it does not make sense to have a page only regarding sales, but instead one that presents the general characteristics and details of the US market, so the name needs to be change to continue expanding the article in that direction. As a precedent, Wiki already has similar pages that avoid crowding main articles, such as Plug-in hybrids in California, Taxicabs of New York City or Police vehicles in the United Kingdom, and several others alike. Please indicate below if you support or oppose the name change.--Mariordo (talk) 02:08, 11 June 2010 (UTC)
- Support some sort of rename. "Hybrid" is exceedingly wrong. This could be an article on the sales of mules in the US, since mules are a hybrid type of equine. 70.29.212.131 (talk) 04:34, 11 June 2010 (UTC)

Fuel price question
[edit]DMacks, sorry, I did not mean to be rude, it just happened that by mistake I saved the undo without an explanation in the summary. This is an official U.S. government source (a reliable source) so it is not appropriate to post the request in the article but the right place is here. So you go can to the site and check, they usually post all assumptions. You also can go to EPA here which provides slightly different price estimates, but this one I am sure they detailed all assumptions. Since this is the second time this question arise, I will look into it (and put a note) during the following days.-Mariordo (talk) 00:31, 27 June 2010 (UTC)
- No offense taken. But a bunch of numbers, no matter how reliable the source, can still either be useful and explained well, or copied verbatim and hope readers happen to have the same hidden-variable values:) Fact isn't clear what assumptions were made to get the value, is why I tagged it specifically for that sort of cleanup. I looked at the cited ref, and best I can tell there isn't even a clear answer (values are for "price of appropriate fuel", which varies from vehicle to vehicle). That's exactly the kind of missing description I'm talking about--"better mpg but only for higher %/gal gas" is an important tidbit that I couldn't figure out how to incorporate into the table cleanly. DMacks (talk) 03:06, 27 June 2010 (UTC)
- Alright, I added the fuel-cost commentary from the fueleconomy.gov source. Still not ideal maybe, but at least now readers can see what assumption was made/how to account for this time-sensitive analysis. DMacks (talk) 03:43, 27 June 2010 (UTC)
- Good job. I will really look into it (drill down as necessary) in a few days, and expand the note as necessary to make more explicit the assumptions. I do know that they update the values from time to time, those you put seem very updated (that is almost the same price I pay where I live). Thanks.-Mariordo (talk) 04:11, 27 June 2010 (UTC)

Similarity to article: Plug-in electric vehicles in the United States
[edit]These two article contain many identical informations. Since Plugin electric also can be hybrid and hybrid always means plugin electric.
So how about either merging them or put some effective structure into them. Any ideas?
Also these articles booth are named vehicles, but are only describing cars.
So i recommend to move them to a more specific name. Any suggestions?
