I have an NT guide to the house (1997, revised 2003) in which there is no mention. The library does however contain a volume of Goethe's Faust which Victoria gave Disraeli as a gift. nancy15:51, 20 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The article states that the manor was first recorded in 1086 and was subsequently purchased by Disraeli in 1848. That leaves a rather large span of time unaccounted for...
