The result of the move request was: Not moved, no consensus. Oppose uncountered for about a week. Al Nahyan retargeted to Al Nahyan family per PRIMARYREDIRECT (non-admin closure) — Andy W. (talk) 23:27, 11 November 2016 (UTC)
Al Nahyan family → Al Nahyan – This is the primary topic – Emir of Wikipedia (talk) 14:18, 28 October 2016 (UTC)
- This is a contested technical request (permalink). Steel1943 (talk) 17:52, 28 October 2016 (UTC)
- Note: Al Nahyan (disambiguation) exists. I'm weary to perform this move since there may be multiple notable topics. Steel1943 (talk) 17:50, 28 October 2016 (UTC)
- Moved to full discussion. Steel1943 (talk) 17:52, 28 October 2016 (UTC)
- For the record, I am neutral. Steel1943 (talk) 23:21, 28 October 2016 (UTC)
- I am the nominator and the family is what the neighbourhood is named after. The stadium is named after the neighbourhood it is in, and therefore is indirectly named after the family. I however understand that the root name is not always the primary topic, however in this case it the royal and presidential family of a country, whereas the other two are less notable. Emir of Wikipedia (talk) 20:41, 28 October 2016 (UTC)
- Oppose move, but change Al Nahyan to primary redirect. I think it's correct that the family is the primary topic over the neighbourhood and the stadium - it certainly wins page views,[1] and also I think long term significance and common usage. But on the other hand I don't think the article should actually be titled Al Nahyan. That would be like renaming Kennedy family to Kennedy. Instead, Al Nahyan should simply become a WP:PRIMARYREDIRECT, pointing to Al Nahyan family. — Amakuru (talk) 17:39, 4 November 2016 (UTC)
