Roman Civ Review-Nate French
[edit]This article contains a lot of information. However, I would attempt to organize it more efficiently. Instead of a bunch of subheadings, attempt to consolidate into more general categories. To fix the picture, try looking into the image tutorial on Wikipedia (I think Prof Strong emailed us the link). In the second section, entitled Speculation about the Owner, the ending sentence is incomplete (it ends not a...?). -Nate French —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 75.63.74.57 (talk) 19:11, 12 May 2007 (UTC).

[edit]This article contains a lot of information and shows you really did your research. However I agree with Nate that breaking it into subheadings (look into Wiki tutorials) could really help with visual organization. Also, it is really useful if you provide links for terms that have their own Wikipedia entries, like Pompeii or Vesuvius. You can do this by putting them in double brackets (for example, if you do Pompeii, it will give the reader an automatic link to Pompeii’s page). I would also define a few of your terms a little more, especially in the “fresco” section. You obviously know what you’re talking about, but the reader might be less sure what you mean with words like “peristyle.” A quick definition would really help. Also, this is a small issue, but footnotes go after punctuation. Bsossin 22:04, 12 May 2007 (UTC)
Roman Civilization Review by Savena Gallardo
[edit]The author does a great job in describing the House of Menander. It was definitley clear that a good effort was put into researching this topic accurately. I also like the picture of the House because it helps the reader get a clear look at what the House of Menander looks like today. Pictures definitley do a great job of adding to an article. There are only a few suggestions I would make to the author to improve th article. The first suggestion would be to capitalize menander in the title of the article. It was also a bit unclear why the House of Menader was built. I would agree with both Nate and Brooke in saying that breaking up the information into more accurate subheadings would also help with the flow and clarity of the article. The last thing I would suggest would be to try and find more pictures of the House of Menander from another angle as well. I think that would give readers an even better look at the House. Other than that, I think the article was GREAT! --S.michelle 22:36, 15 May 2007 (UTC)
Roman Civ Review by Anise K. Strong
[edit]While you describe it well, some of your information seems irrelevant and you do not describe the frescoes inside well enough, which are the primary feature of the house. More purely scholarly articles, such as that of Andrew Wallace-Hadrill or Bettina Bergmann, might have helped. You responded very productively to your editors' comments.

[edit]I have a video tour of this house on my youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sd5JX-0nNLY Would it be OK for me to add a link to it on here as it helps to give a feel for the house?--Carla Brain (talk) 12:19, 25 September 2016 (UTC)
