Family response

[edit]

The section discussing Reggiani's response should be expanded to include the family's response and renamed 'Family response'. ArturSik (talk) 18:53, 8 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

 Done: I have added about it. GagaNutellatalk 03:38, 12 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

On Actors' Accent

[edit]

Dear all,

I have a request.

In the trailer, all the actors are speaking in English with an artificial Italian accent.

Why is that the case? Why didn't they stick to standard English?

They would not have spoken in English among themselves, so this makes no sense at all.

It makes the result like a caricature, and I have been trying to understand why it happened.

I have been looking for answers, but found none so far.

I imagine that it was a director's decision, given that all the actors adopted it.

If you come across a source which supplies an explanation, could you please add a section illustrating and explaining this decision?

Judging from social media reactions to the trailer, I am not the only one who asked himself this question.

Thanks for your time.

Kind regards,

Their accent doesn't sound Italian at all, but it sounds more like an Eastern European accent. It was a director's decision most likely, like making a family of fashion designers look like a family of gangsters. In the end it's just fiction and nothing else. --Chiorbone da Frittole (talk) 20:54, 10 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I briefly looked for sources but when you search "House of Gucci accents", you get flooded with opinion pieces and responses to the trailer. I would imagine it will come up in an interview with Gaga or with the director at some point during the promotion of the film. BOVINEBOY2008 23:50, 10 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Mashable statement in the lead

[edit]

Just wondering if this should be moved out of the lead and into the critical response section. In many film articles with the critics' response summary in the lead, we don't usually get this specific (though there are occasional exceptions). At the very least, it does need to be repeated in the body per WP:LEADFOLLOWSBODY. --GoneIn60 (talk) 06:08, 25 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

TropicAces recently added that content to the lead [1] after I had removed other content for being unsupported in the body [2]. I think the Mashable source could be enough support for something about the "tone" in the lead (maybe something like "awkward tone" would be more accurate than "inconsistent" or even using another word rather than "tone"), but I would agree that the specific details from it would probably be more appropriate just in the reception section. – wallyfromdilbert (talk) 06:22, 25 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Residence or office?

[edit]

The real murder took place outside his office, and having just seen the film, that's what I thought the building was there too. What's the basis for saying it took place outside his "residence"? Lovingboth (talk) 22:25, 2 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

and the brain tumour -

[edit]

no mention in the film. frontal lobe tumours can - whether removed or not - cause personality changes. film gives no clear indication of passage of time either. and last but not least, it treads too lightly (one might say weakly) over maurizio's looting of his company for cars etc. 70.51.81.212 (talk) 21:52, 19 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
