Beatties
I amended the House of Fraser page to say that Beatties Worcester is not yet "House of Fraser Worcester". This information is incorrect, and I know this because I work there! I understand that the HOF website has indeed taken Telford and Worcester's "Beatties" status away- nevertheless, the store still has Beatties displayed on it. (If and) when the name above the door changes, I shall be on to edit the page! However, somebody may wish to check about the other statements made.
- Isn't Solihull still a Beatties? It says HoF on this page, we need a way to verify the status of the branches. Asdfasdf1231234 (talk) 14:59, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
- This has now been updated, though I see an anonymous user, in attempt to make the list more readable, has recently removed references in the brand section to a number of well known names no longer used such as DH Evans. Warren Whyte (talk) 10:02, 7 January 2011 (UTC)
Biased and one-sided information
This article is clearly very biased and reads like it has been written by the House of Fraser PR office. There is a need for more objective information here. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.69.84.26 (talk) 13:33, 22 September 2010 (UTC)
- There have been significant edits over the last month, so I don't think this is still the case. Warren Whyte (talk) 09:52, 7 January 2011 (UTC)
Categories
I propose that the racism and fraud categories be removed: the racism one seems to relate to one person's complaint about an advertising campaign, and did not develop into anything further, and the fraud tag seems to relate to an ex-director of the parent company rather than to House of Fraser itself. Warren Whyte (talk) 10:02, 7 January 2011 (UTC)
This seems very biased. Do you work for the House of Fraser PR department? The director in question was the owner of House of Fraser. How can he not be associated with House of Fraser itself? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.69.84.26 (talk) 15:43, 22 July 2013 (UTC)
London
- Is this article really part of the London project? While it is a major department store in London, it is a national chain. Warren Whyte (talk) 10:02, 7 January 2011 (UTC)
Frasers Ipswich Branch?
Was this Frasers department store in Ipswich a part of the House of Fraser or another retailer which coincidentally happened to use the same brand name? http://www.flickr.com/photos/norfolkodyssey/405979245/ Also I guess more could be written on store closures during the 1990s and early 2000s. --Wrh1973 (talk) 20:26, 6 January 2012 (UTC)
The Frasers in Ipswich you refer to wasn't connected to House of Fraser. The Ipswich business was called 'R D & J B Fraser' and was established in 1883. The store was acquired by John Blundell Maple (not sure when) and closed in 1984. AndrewSE19 6 June 2012 (How do you tag your username at the end??!!)
