I think this may be another UK/US language difference. In the UK, a vaporizing oil engine means a spark-ignition engine fitted with a vaporizer for running on Tractor vaporising oil. The Akroyd Stuart engine is called a Hot bulb engine or semi-diesel. What are the US definitions? Biscuittin 21:35, 8 October 2007 (UTC)
Move
[edit]I intend to move this article to Oil engine and change Vaporizing oil engine to a disambig page referring to both Oil engine and Tractor vaporising oil. Please discuss. Biscuittin 09:10, 10 October 2007 (UTC)
- No response for over a year so I have made changes. Biscuittin (talk) 07:59, 25 October 2008 (UTC)
hot bulb class
[edit]This is a hot bulb engine and not a diesel.
Furthermore it has little control over the start of combustion so it would only run smoothly at one speed with the same load.Wdl1961 (talk) 15:57, 22 November 2008 (UTC)
Merge?
[edit]It seems to me that it would make sense to merge this page with Hot bulb engine, and redirect Hornsby-Akroyd oil engine to an appropriate subsection of the resultant page. Any comments? Salmanazar (talk) 15:09, 21 December 2008 (UTC)
