GA assessment
[edit]I’ve placed the article on hold for a second opinion to address the following:
This is a peculiar article in that it is attempting to address three entirely different structures whose only commonality is the (principle) tenant. The page title and infobox, therefore, are somewhat misleading. I’m concerned that the only structure of true notability is the “second generation”. The “third generation,” which is implicitly the focus, doesn’t appear particularly notable (i.e. not tallest in a certain area, not unique architecture/construction, etc.); a notable tenant does not make a notable structure. Frankly, I think the article should be restructured to focus on the “second generation”; the “first generation” information would then be appropriate for background and the “third,” obviously, as the replacement. - I'm failing the article. There has been no response, and there are major issues as noted above. Also, remember you need punctuation before you place a ref, and you need to wikilink dates. — Dihydrogen Monoxide 22:51, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
- I believe the only requirement about the refs wrt punctuation is consistency. The linking of dates is now deprecated. Ohconfucius (talk) 10:36, 5 February 2009 (UTC)
GA Reassessment
[edit]- This discussion is transcluded from Talk:Hong Kong Club Building (1897)/GA1. The edit link for this section can be used to add comments to the reassessment.
Principal editor requesting reassessment. I believe work has now been done to address the initial concerns, and the article has been moved to an appropriate namespace. Ohconfucius (talk) 09:47, 5 February 2009 (UTC)
- I'm going to remove the GAR tag from this talk page. Nobody has responded to it and it was initiated almost eight months ago. Also, I think the GAR was incorrectly initiated - they are only used to review articles that are listed as GA, to determine if they actually meet GA criteria, and not to re-assess failed GANs.
